I remember Mother Angelica saying something about the danger of people being "educated beyond their intelligence". I know many highly educated Catholic's who vote for the culture of death , which makes me question not only their intelligence but their sanity. Thank you Fr. Mark .

It’s their pride that tells them they know better than the what our Lord taught. Doesn’t help that some of our Bishops and Cardinals don’t condemn the actions of these “Catholic” politicians. They need to stand up and denounce them as they are not in communion with the church’s teachings. Therefore, they should be denied communion.

As a former Protestant Catholic revert (Byzantine Catholic now), I see many Protestants who are not afraid to proclaim the gospel. I know doctrinally we don’t agree on many things but on the main points like Jesus is our only true lord and savior, rejection of sin WE DO AGREE. We also agree on what’s clearly wrong like abortion. We need to at the very least stand with other Christians in solidarity politically against clear evils. God bless you Fr. Mark.

It is indeed hard, but it's a psychological battle we have on our hands. In periods of history, Catholics have had much tougher battles, many were slaughtered because they were a catholic. And to fight the battle we are in today, we need wake up, and stop being stupid.

Jesus also said, "If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother... he cannot be my disciple." But hyperbole is lost on many. Jesus' paraboles and lessons were difficult to understand, which is why he later explained everything to his disciples in private (Mark 4:34). And praise Jesus, that I have apostolic teaching rather than my own fallible interpretation of scripture!

Leaving the voting booth, after the last presidential election, I was asked "Did you vote for women's rights?" by supporters of my last state Senator, knowing fully what they meant. My response, "I voted for human rights?" knowing there is no liberty without the protection of life. It was a close election for the seat she held.

My heart is pierced with sorrow and weariness as I witness the lies of the devil destroy so many, while so many priests remain "safe" in their preaching. In the state of New South Wales in Australia we recently had an abortion on demand bill pass through to become law. Many christian people had voted for one particular political party as the other main party was clearly going to legalise abortion. The party we voted for was elected and within a few months that very same party allowed a rare conscience vote and the bill was passed legalising abortion on demand despite our physical presence in protest and despite a few good politicians who opposed the bill making very good attempts at arguing against the legislation. So deceptive.

@@philip1345 Go to a traditional latin mass. You will find reverence there. If that is not an option within a couple hours drive, try to find a good Byzantine rite Divine Liturgy. I grew up with the latter and now attend the former. Both beautiful in their own right.

@@philip1345 Kyle Coffey is right regarding both the traditional Latin Mass [Google "Latin Mass" next to the name of cities near to your home] and the Byzantine Rite (as well as other Eastern Catholic) churches[1] Many are not exclusively "ethnic" churches anymore. Wow!!! This priest has courage. Fr. Goring speaks the truth. I wish more of our priests spoke with such clarity and with such courage. Thank you.

I'm in Ireland last year there was a referendum on the legalisation of abortion. There's a man who lives in my apartment block claims to be Catholic this same man voted in favour for the legalisation of abortion. I tried to discourage him but he wouldn't listen.

Stupid is a word that has a certain meaning that sometimes applies perfectly.

Viva Christo Rey! Wow Father- extremely powerful. I vote according to the standards of my faith. I’ve been very stupid before (younger years) but never again. God bless you!

I pray, in 2020, that this approach also makes us think about those who are complicit in the unnecessary deaths of poor and destitute who were disenfranchised by the lack of care and medical assistance during COVID-19 🙏. Even with less finances- so much more could have been done- so many lives saved... But those in charge (voted in) don't care... And as Pope Benedict Emr. said, the strength of the Anti-Christ is growing 🙏. Parce nobis Domine!
