This is called rotary friction welding. The other 2 types are linear friction and friction stir

Due to centrifugal forces, contaminants can automatically removed in the process. Often used in the navy for repairing screw (propeller) shafts. They use special machines with two powered heads facing each other and turning in opposite directions against the other.

fuer welches problem ist dieses verfahren denn eine loesung? zwei zyliner zu einem machen - da bestell ich doch im vorhinein 1 laengeren. oder soll es um kombination von verschiedenen materialien gehen - zB titan mit stahl zu verbinden edit: ja, ich weiss dass titan nicht mit stahl wegen sproeden verbindungen gescheisst wird; war eine fang-frage. falle zu, affe tot.

Ja, sowohl gleiche als auch unterschiedliche Materialien können mit Hilfe dieser Technologie verbunden werden.

Man kann damit z.B. auch Zahnräder auf Wellen aufschweißen und hat einen sehr gleichmäßigen Verzug. Habe ich bei 4-Zylinder-Diesel-Kurbelwellen schon gesehen.
I love it, Friction Welders produce better welds than inertia welders, that is when welding Drill pipe.

Nobody could've came up with anything by themselves.
Speed, pressing weight & time togather gives the heat. So you can generate heat with a simple windturbine, attached with metal disks , can heat up a barrel with salt, which you can use boil water in a cylinder, than the compressed steam can move a propeller or just as rocket fuel. so if you make this system enough light ,you can put on a airplain & you can fly without with only water. All asshole want you to make mechanical to electric energy, to heat, but you can make heat directly from the mechanical energy. Same when you grind your hands winter its cold.
