MESHUGGAH is:
Jens Kidman - Vocals
Fredrik Thordendal - Guitars
Tomas Haake - Drums
Mårten Hagström - Guitars
Dick Lövgren - Bass
Lyrics:
Born In Dissonance
We are origin
We are increate
You will see our coming for a thousand years
Every violent element incarnate
Made flesh and fused to one
You may call us remnant, as we are all that will be left
Brought forth by ancient whisper
Deployed by inverse suns
To capture the essence of creation
And render it undone
We come to make all things collide
Those joules define what we are
An energy born in dissonance
Long before first ever star
Baptized in the river you call time
We know that we are sacred
In human tongue we're apocalypse
For we bring with us obliteration
Through spectacles tuned to infinity,
You will see our coming for a thousand years
You will know us then for what we truly are
The realization of every fear

When people say they don't like "labels" in Metal (well, sometimes the subgenres people "make-up" are at times ridiculous), I say well; What if a friend or stranger said "I love Metal!", but what they like is Poison, Motley Crue, AC-DC, Sabbath and maybe Metallica and Pantera. And WE reply; "Hey! you may like Death, Cynic, Opeth and Meshuggah! :D" . . . . The 1st song they hear is THIS track, and they either want to strangle you, cringe like someone smacked their knee with a hammer, or . . . . you never hear from them again :P.

mvunit3 true but i hate how mainstream people believe Metallica = hardcore brutal metal shit. Trust me, i have met people who believe metallica is the hardest shit around, and they are proud to hear something so heavy. They act like they have the right to mock people who listen to regional folk songs.

Meshuggah may not be everyone's cup of tea but their is a reason why Rolling Stones called them the most important metal band today. Their influence has already(almost single handedly) started a another genre of metal. I will be honest, I didn't jump right away into them. It took time for my ears to mature and taste. Though, once I heard all of Catch 33, I knew just how important these guys were to metal. They are the art of Metal. Watching them live is like witnessing an event on par with watching Salvador Dali paint a piece or Nicola Tesla's demonstrations. An event that is all the rarer in this day in age. In my humble opinion, of course.

Do u know how much work bands do to make their self sound better in studio? Most of it is produced to near perfection. Live metal album of this magnitude is absolutely nuts. Completely nuts.

It means as a band they sat around each other and played their parts at the same time while the recorder was on. You may not hear the exact tracks they used, but it isnt programmed to perfect PC time. it has the human timing element in it still to a certain degree.

@Gospel969 To me it sounds better. More low and crispy, better that the high scream of previous albums to me. And hearing Bleed and New Millenium Christ Cyanide with this lower voice makes those songs a lot more heavier and darker. It really fits a growler voice on a band that is continiously seeking for the lower pitch possible. On my humble opinion.

Its pretty boring honestly. Its obviously trying to appease people who like really really heavy music. Nothing wrong with that at all, its called opinion, taste...whatever you want to call it. I like my metal to be more atmospheric and include more than just the generic sounds you know you'd hear in a normal metal track. Progressive metal is cool because there is such a variety among the artists but there are also ones that sound very similar and personally id put Meshuggah in that category.

I don't think meshuggah entirely need any noticeable sound progression. Production sounds alot like chaosphere, especially guitar tones. I don't think people really know what they're asking for, if theyre complaining about non-progressive albums. State what you're expecting of a band that engineered an entirely new dimension of sonic and rhytmic art. I don't really think they need to answer to anyone, their albums are consistently top quality in terms of musicianship.

Great work with the ongoing ones in the video, keep em coming. \w/ We are origin We are increate You will see our coming for a thousand years Every violent element incarnate Made flesh and fused to one You may call us remnant As we are all that will be left Brought forth by ancient whisper Deployed by inverse suns To capture the essence of creation And render it undone We come to make all things collide Those joules define what we are An energy born in dissonance Long before first ever star Baptized in the river you call time We know that we are sacred In human tongue we're apocalypse For we bring with us obliteration Through spectacles tuned to infinity You will see our coming for a thousand years You will know us then for what we truly are The realization of every fear

I've seen many great metal bands live but meshuggah puts on one of the most intense shows I've ever seen great band if you get the chance I highly recommend seeing them live because even though the albums are great nothing can beat seeing them live

I've noticed the more I listen to Meshuggah that Tomas Haake isn't there to drum, he's there to keep time.
