Best thing about Tomas Haake is his snare ghost notes. It's like having tiny bits of delicate beauty sprinkled in with all the brutality.

Tomas uses the ghost notes mainly to keep tempo. In a live setting they can't heard or just barely in the quieter moments, but are still pretty useful.

Excellent playthrough. The reason it shines isn't because you added anything different or extra. It shines because it's so clean and tight. You could fill in for Haake.

This is by far the best Meshuggah song of the last 15 years. Its safe to say I'm stoked to see you playing this beast of a song. P.S - your Nothing medley is still one of my all time favs, probably watched it 100 times

@@ddrum1090 yep those ones are great, particularly marrow, but this is the only modern Meshuggah song I listened to on repeat when I first heard it. I just think it's classic Meshuggah, sounds like chaosphere kinda.

@@KreatorOfDeath1985 im aware, and I actually feel like that's better shown on tracks like by the ton/ into decay where the tempo is slower and varies more. Haake even said some tracks change by up to 10 bpm from front to back. I agree that it feels heavier, and a lot more genuine too.

Easily the best Meshuggah drum covers i've seen. Your feel is perfect. I've watched your album medleys that you've done and MAN those are incredible. I can only imagine how difficult an entire playthrough must be! Bravo, Troy!!

Out-fucking-standing. My favourite song off of sleep and I think one of the best 'classic sounding' Meshuggah songs. This just slams and you nailed it.

It would be cool to be in a band set up like Miles Davis (header, solos) but with “Meshuggah” style dent riffs mixed with some actual harmony and melody and some chords and textures, but set up for improv context. Solos rather than Cookie Monster vocals all day. You are one of the few drummers I know of that could pull it off.
