not if youre using the correct technique. From the wrist as relaxed as you can make it
Look at his username, it's the tablature for the riff of Bleed!!!
you have no idea how hard it is to keep in time with this band.
I watched about 10 of these covers today and imo this one nails it. From what I can see on the DVDs and interview videos this is accurate. Most people mess up the part at 1:40 pretty badly but this is how Martin plays it live for sure.

The absolute madman does it again perfectly.
For 6 decades 6 strings gave us complex music, the rest of the decades 8 strings are gonna give us technically complex music

8 strings aren't inherently more technical, most technical death metal is played on 6 or 7 strings.
that bend is sick asf
I TRULY believe this is the best cover of bleed out there. unlike others, your playing is very fluent and you dont look like your sturggling like every other person that covers the song. you got the technique down pretty well. great job bro!
Extremely fluent! Very nice job man, one of the most difficult and most awesome songs there is.
Dude your vids are always so tight. You have a band?
his youtube name is a reference to the fucking song oh my god hahaha thats amazing 000-0 then 5^6

OMG good job f'n love this song
I have seen some of your covers. Wow. Just wow.
Your awesome!!!!!!!!
nailed it
My hands gave me 2 weeks notice after watching this 😟
best cover Sounds exactly
Fantastic cover buddy.
The camera didnt record the fast chugs because it was moving too fast for the low frame rate, thats my guess.

@YoCrunchiness hang in there man. This is the first song I heard by meshuggah and I might have thought it was repetitive after a few listens but me needing to be able to play that foot pattern made me realize the technicality in the nuances of the song. The differencein theyre style of playing intrigues you to hear more, and if you listen enough youll just get it, and realize the precise use of the riff and the groove and youll b hooked.
What a god.
I watch this more than the fucking official video now.
You make it look so easy, man. But nice job. \m/
i just got a rg8 and im in love

Do I see a warlock on the wall?!? Great cover dude.
Holy shit dude!

If you ever are able to get to responding to me, I have a question. This song is the only song I have ever played that makes the muscles in my picking hand lock up. Any advice on how to prevent that?

Slow practice and relaxing. Practice really slowly and work your way up 2-3 clicks on a metronome every cycle. I just a watched an interview with the drummer and he said that he had to change his approach to how he played for this song. He mentioned that he usually kicks hard but actually had to play softer and easier so that he could play this, so maybe you should try and change the way that you practice for this.

Thank you so much. I appreciate it. Also, any idea where I can get a left handed 8 string for cheap-ish? Haven't had much luck with the internet.

Jacob A. Gibson I have no idea. Check out ESP, Ibanez, Jackson, or any other maker's websites. That will be your best bet.

Jacob A. Gibson check it out. these triplets are different than most . look up the lesson video by Brogan Woodburn. Also Agile 8 string septor guitars run for like 400 a piece on amazon! anything cheaper will probably end up being a hassle.

Hold the pick like he does in the video, kinda like a fist. You kinda like point your thumb up, then out the pick on your curled index and put thumb down on it. Don't squeeze too much.
Amanzing cover man!, what amp are you using?
im sure it is, its just when people bash on covers with opens and complicated galloping, it makes it out as if it is easy
Yeah. I just like the look of the longer scale guitars too, these 27" look fat to me. Also Agile (through Rondo Music) sells a 30" 8 string for $900 I think. Pretty damn good for something that's very similar to the M8M, but about 2 grand cheaper.
its the M8M i think dude. The guitar i want most in the world:P
Good fucking job on those triplets dude!!
Well it ads an extra two strings, giving you a further range of notes to play, instead of a guitar being E to E (EADGBE) in standard tuning, your guitar could be G to E( GBEADGBE) I'm not sure if this is how 8 strings are tuned but in theory thats what it does.
I like BoO too, but they are no were as complicated as Messuggah, rhythm wise.
Are you using AxeFx?
二個目のパターンはどうやって覚えたんだろう、、、?
Goood job man, I got a question for you. How is this song difficulty wise? Cuz im a drummer n I cant really see how it could be nearly as hard on guitar but i know you need alot of endurance in your wrist, like a drummer would need endurance in the muscles in the, shin area. Compare it to another song
No, it's the RGA8.
My hands hurt from watching this
And Bradley McClelland, standard 8 string tuning is f#beadgbe, but meshuggah down tunes a half step I THINK
Actually, I think you could well be right dude :) It would be harder yes but not impossible, I think the end result is worth the extra effort to be honest. The thicker strings issue is probably my biggest fear, purely due to the higher price.
when the hell did you get that guitar? Meshugga is a good band but I have serious problems not getting bored with the same riffs song after song.. cool rythme though.. perfect cover btw
3 for solo
sorry for this question thats coming. but what does an extra 1,2,3,4 or however ever many strings added to a 6 string guitar actually do?
@naomisalama430

Range
I don't see you with any videos. Wheres your guitar?
Consider yourself subscribed.
It's not M8M. It has only 1 pickup. It's RG2228.
That looks like just an RG8, which I can't stand to look at. 8 strings with such a short scale (27 inch) has to be hard to intonate. Not to mention having to use thicker strings.
G&L invader on your wall?(sorry for bad english)
Really? that's actually a really good buy :P

Awesome cover. Also, this is my first time hearing Meshuggah. At the beginning of the song, I was like "hell yeah!" but then, IMO, the song went downhill from there. Fortunately, this cover was consistently awesome for the duration of the song.
I really hope you don't put tabs on Ultimate Guitar....
very nice ! other performers are not on point as much as you are
Typically the added strings are lower. I own Ibanez 7 and 8 strings. The 7th is a low B, much like how you have a low E and high E. The 8th is a low F#/Gb (instead of a low G, so as to keep with the 5 half step spacing). Agile makes 9 and 10 strings, which would by my guess be low Db and low Ab, respectfully. But some string companies make very light gauge (.007 or .008) strings that could also be tuned to high A. But more than likely it's more lows.
WTF 8 strings :O
Your camera was recording at too low of a frame rate for us to actually see what your right hand was doing lol
i bet you can't keep that rhytm even with 00000000 ;)
You look like venoms version of Marty McFly in that vest but sick jams dude.

Dude ... listen to the sound of his guitar! It's not always 100 % tight (very close though). The picture and recording are slightly out of sync - watch his hands.
is that saying its easy, this is the opposite to easy, the patterns are extremely fast and complicated
try playing it, the whole song, try playing the drumming part also.
Dude WTF.
Umm... no.. they're not.
Watch his right hand guys he is not playing
calls out0's and 5's in a song, has a chelsea grin vid. wheres your meshuggah attempt?

There are other parts where the ebow uses upper register strings. Also tuning a six string that low would provide the most ridiculous muck of tone imaginable.
