From what I remember this show was basically just The Southern Golden Girls but Meshach Taylor helped make it feel a little different. He was of the rare breed of black stars from that time in predominantly white shows that not only became very popular but got emmy nominated for the role, others being such gems as Robert Gulliame, Tim Reid and Ron Glass. I also remember always seeing this dude on something whether it was Class Act with Kid N Play or the sitcom All of Us as Neesee's deadbeat dad lol R.I.P.

I agree. It would take me days to remember their names.
I love how roberts wife, Cynthia waved so happily at him when Anthony introduced her. The way they all just went along with him lmao 😂 THAT is family! Wish it had showed the look on Mary Jo’s face cause u know she was looking around like “wtf?!” Lmao 😂
Iii lllooovvveeeeee this part... Lol💯😁😁😁😁

Yes, and originally Meshach was only to be on 1 episode as a delivery guy. But He just stole the show and became a regular. They just don't make shows like this anymore. Even if they tried and key word here is tried......it wouldn't be the same! I was in high school when this showed aired and my grandmother got me hooked on this and the Golden Girls
This was some of the GREATEST acting from Mechach besides him playing Hollywood😅😅
One of my favorite scripts of the show!!!!
I agree with Julia.
Met Meshach Taylor several times over the years ... Always a kind sweet guy!
The looks on his 'brothers' faces when Anthony comments on having skied Bandini mountain before are great.
How in the WORLD did he do this.... i would LOVE to know how many takes it took. RIP Mr. Taylor.

Have to love how Charlene's father nods his head at 1:20, as if to say, "We got you, man". Even Julia, ever the paragon of virtue, has to hand it to Anthony for thinking on his feet.

"It's those jelly donuts, they call to me in the middle of the night. 'Hollywood! Come and get me Hollywood!'" Meshach Taylor was everything.
How could he remember so many names in such a short time ?
This is definitely on my list of favorite TV scenes.
Excellent performance by Menash. Deserved an Emmy.
i love how they had his back no questions asked & the brothers crossed there arms becuse it would be white on rice if that fool tried anything 1:01
This was Anthony's most outrageous fantastic moments on DW.
Anthony's greatest moment.
That was VERY impressive.
That was Amazingly brilliant!!! I wouldn't even have remembered names. But if you work with someone for a long time and they talk about their family, you would remember them.
Can’t believe Anthony got all the names right in the first try!

He did it! What a GREAT performance👍😍😘💖I miss him.
The best TV ever had to offer.
He knows all the names of people he's not even related to and I don't even know the names of my cousins who live 15 minutes from me.
Hilarious!
Do that thang Anthony! Lol
One of my favorite tv moments of all time!
Wow I would not be able to remember all those names this was just awesome

ese hombre , I also like 2 more scenes from this episode. When they all go to the club and find out that Charlene was lied to and Anthony says why don't he and the bubbas take Galen out in the alley and take care of him. And also when Charlene tells the club owner that they're all of her family including her work family.
One of my favorite old shows. One of my favorite speeches
What a great family!
Charlene talks about her family....ALOT. It was bound to stick in his memory eventually, lol
This is such a classic! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I got to see him in Beauty and the Beast on Broadway years ago, loved him! Loved this episode!

I always loved how the brothers immediately backed up Anthony without a word, and none of the little kids gave it away.
