Classic Meryl Streep. She said very little but made the audience feel EVERYTHING she felt. She doesn't even have to speak!

That look on her face when she say's thank you Don for your GORGEOUS.......DNA. Damn this woman is so amazing.

So this was in 2004, after that she made The Devil Wears Prada which made her a box-office success, and then Doubt, Mamma mia!, Julie and Julia, It's Complicated, hit after hit, an Oscar for The Iron Lady, and then Into the Woods, August: Osage County... She is unique in movie history. That's all.

Gábor Vág Indeed. But she really was a frontrunner at that. By then that could very well have Been it for Her. Her career really is one of a kind

She has such grace and is so humble. My favorite line in Meryl's speech: "I wish I was her, I really do." She melts my heart and always lifts my spirit. The reigning queen of American cinema. I look forward to watching her accept Oscar #4 sometime in the future.

As much as l understood that all people who spoke about her they said the best things for her and she kind of made joke for herself that she wants to be like herself.

If I could ever pick one person to look up to in my life, ever, it'd be you, Meryl. You're the epitome of a gorgeous, angelic, fantastic human being.

She is class, sophistication, grace, beauty, and just about every positive thing you can say about a woman and an actress. She is truly what every serious female actress in Hollywood should strive to emulate.

I wouldn't want to live in a world without Meryl Streep. I think I'd mourn her passing more than I'd do any of my relatives. And we're a very close-knit family.

This was Pre-Prada, Doubt, Osage County, Iron Lady, Florence Foster... She just keeps dazzling us decade after decade!

I love her my two favorites Sophie's Choice and The Bridges of Madison County. I made my daughters watch it with me . Who wants to watch a movie about some bridges ? Needless to say we were passing around the Kleenex before the movie was over . What a gift she is to all of us

I like how AFI gives these awards to such great talents. So many wonderful female actresses of our times. Meryl is definitely one of them and what an illustrious career she's had. I would love to see her and Barbra Streisand in a film together. Class act she is. Love her entrance to the stage and on the podium. When you're passionate about what you do, you remember your craft is all for the people to behold. Dramatic flair, humor timings, and a humble character. She's so in awe that we can't help but root for her more.

Classiest and most talented artist of our time...and what a singer! Love her.

Meryl Streep, the best actress of Hollywood's modern times and the best of her generation. You are awesome and amazing.

It's impossible to know whether she's acting or not.. THAT'S HOW GOOD SHE IS!!!

What a classy, super intelligent, funny, warm, deep, talented, beautiful, radiant woman! She is so unique and special. I don't think that I'll ever see anyone like her in my lifetime.

They all LOVE her. It's pretty amazing how much they all love her. And there is no one who deserves it more. Amazing actress, amazing person... There is no one better than Meryl Streep.

You can see how much love, respect and admiration her collegues have for her, they cant hide it. A beauty of a woman. Inside and out... only two artist so far in my life managed to touch me so deeply: Meryl Streep and Amy Winehouse. Two very different yet so emotinaly raw women.

What's so good about Meryl is that she is such a regular gal. She is so funny without trying to be funny which just makes her remarks that much funnier. We exalt such foolery and bullshit these days. I'm all for a annual Meryl Streep Rocks Day to balance the universe. Hell why not?!

Based upon excerpts from the new book about Streep in Vanity Fair, Hoffman treated Streep badly during the filming of Kramer Vs. Kramer. They both won Oscars, but Hoffman was notorious for being a royal pain in the ass towards his co-stars, particularly if they didn't have the juice to fight back.

Her random, unrehersed speeches show just how genuine she is. And how much of a talented actress she is. If she can't put together the words in everyday life (as in a speech), and then you watch her on screen....a perfectly tuned instrument. She's a true American treasure.

I watched how her colleagues in the industry looked at her with such love and admiration, and seemed to be waiting what she would say next. It's a testament to how much she is revered and held in great esteem by them. Meryl is unbelievable: iconic yet so real, so human, so humble, so funny! It's my dream to meet and interview her in person and write a feature article on it. How do I get to watch all her movies? We need more people like her to colour our world. God bless you, Meryl!
