VSA Tromp Maks was acting so women would vote for them, yes of course he liked Meryl as a person & respected her talent but he was not attracted to her sexually. Look at all the women Maks had dated in the past, they were not women with boyish figures & no bust, let’s be honest. Peta his wife is beautiful, very feminine with a stunning figure, he always had a type & it wasn’t Meryl!

VSA Tromp I think that it was the same with Meryl as well, just acting, being in character. She does the same with her ice dancing partner, yet they have a purely platonic relationship too. People read too much into these partnerships, it’s very rare that a ‘real’ relationship develops beyond their time on the show together, the only one that was truly serious was Kym Johnson & Robert Herkjovic who are now married with twins, you could see the chemistry between them during the show, it wasn’t madeup or pretend just for votes like so many other couples!

It is 2024. I still say season 18, with Max and Meryl was the best ever! The chemistry and professionalism in their skills was off the charts!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

@@aprilsilvers381, Meryl is a professional skater. She has the advantage of being coached in all types of dancing and gymnastics. She even had the advantage of not having heavy ice skatings on. No doubt she works out, eats well... she has too. No surprise she's good. And no surprise they won. But no doubt all bets were on for Meryl and Max to win because she IS A PROFESSIONAL TOO. I think the show gave Max the best to work with so he could have a win before leaving the show.

@@lisagermick4560 @Lisa Germick she wasn't just a professional skater, she was an Olympic gold medalist in ice dance. Ice dance is basically ballroom on blades. I believe one or both of her and Charlie's Olympic programs was choreographed by Derek Hough. No doubt Meryl and Maks had amazing routines. But seeing as how she was fairly well trained not just in dance but specifically ballroom, there's no reason they shouldn't have mopped the floor with their competition lol. I'd have protested that the fix was in if I'd been cast that season LMAO

I think Laurie Hernandez was a very good dancer also when she was patterned with Maks brother Val.

Meryl is really the best ever on this show. Honestly despite the choreography being too basic for someone as good as Meryl, what made their dances so great is the chemistry and Meryl executing everything so perfectly.

It's interesting to watch Danica Mckellar dancing together with Meryl. Danica is very good. But next to Meryl, you see the difference. Meryl's movements are sharper, more defined.

Its October 2019 and I'm still watching them like it was the first time. Loved everything about them that season. She was so light one her feet and matched so perfectly with him. Will never get tired of seeing them dance.

I've watched other vids of hers, and she's VERY involved with the skating world -- she married a skater -- her wedding vid is on YT, check it out. Charlie also married a skater. I think Maks' & her real life worlds were too different, but MAN, they are HOT dancing together.

Jamie-Lynn Murray Maks wasn’t physically attracted to Meryl, she simply wasn’t his type at all with her boyish shape. All the women he’d dated in the past were more model like, his wife Peta has a stunning figure. Maks & Meryl had a faux romance for the show to garner votes, people fell for it, while in reality he was dating Peta. Women watching had convinced themselves it was all real, but it simply wasn’t true!

These two were the VERY BEST Dance couple EVER on DWTS!!! She was his best partner and he threw her around like a ragdoll and it worked every time, I enjoyed watching them every episode... BRILLIANT choreography Maksim!! But no one would expect any less from you ;)

What set Meryl apart from any other dancer on this show was that none of her dances looked "rehearsed," they looked like they just came naturally to her, like she and Maks were coming up with moves on the spot. In almost all of the other contestants, even the really good ones, you can see them thinking through their choreography. I never saw that with Meryl, and she and Maks will forever be the best DWTS pairing.

What's so great about Meryl is how she managed to push Maks to his creative limits. They're just the absolute perfect partnership, I love them!

I never tire of watching Meryl & Max ! To me they’re the all time ultimate couple, they had Fire, Charisma, Entertainment, Technique to die for with beautiful lines, matching as one effortlessly, and last but not least, their Chemistry ! Meryl & Max were MAGNIFICENTLY MAGICAL TOGETHER ! 💞🥰

This kind of dancing is not just taught, it's in your Bones! She is hypnotizing.

Their tango is my personal favorite ballroom dance to ever be on the show. Just true talent and skill. Outmatched.

even on her 1st dance she was just like a pro, oh my god. i can’t get over them!!

This was absolutely the MOST memorable season of DWTS with Meryl and Maks creating magic that has never been surpassed!!!

Their freestyle is still, to this day, one of the best that has been on the show...

The chemistry between these two is so beautiful

gosh, this was the best season of dwts, i recall watching and voting like crazy for meryl. the fact that meryl was able to applied the emotional factor in each dance, makes the dance captivating to watch.

It's now April 19th, 2019 and watching this for the first time. I've never seen Maks smiled more with any of his partners than being with Meryl. This was a long time deserved for Maks to win. If there will ever be another superstar DWTS I do hope that both will be back.

I think Maks was just happy to finally have a partner that could dance good enough to finally win him a trophy. They really look great dancing together.

She’s so uniquely gorgeous and from Week 1 it looks like she’s been dancing her whole life. What a season this must’ve been!!

They were so fluid and beautifully in cinque with each other. My favorite all time dance team.

Definitely the best chemistry of any couple on Dancing With the Stars. I felt the heat! Muv caliente! My all time favorite dancers and she brought out the best in Maks, the best emotion, dancing and acting.

That group dance was legendary, no way they were going to lose since the 4 pros were best friends/brothers. It was the ultimate powerhouse team.

When it is 2021 and you still cannot get over them. Simply perfect.

That was THE VERY BEST SEASON. Meryl and Maksim are the HIGHLIGHT of the ENTIRE SHOW.

Watching Max dance. He had that smile on his face, and the way HE danced! I always watched dancing way back. Almost got to be in the audience, but you couldn’t get it ticket. Never will be another Max and Meryl. ❤️❤️

WOW, Just when I thought that I've seen it all, I happened to find this gem, without a shadow of a doubt this video is astronomically fantastic this has got to be the only one that was perfect with DWTS History. I Loved everything that Meryl Davis did absolutely perfect. I literally took my breath away. And Maksim Chmerkov is gorgeous. Meryl Davis Davis and Maksim are so meant to dance together. Meryl Davis is so Cute and has a lot of Charisma. With the number of perfect dances Meryl Davis has, I have never seen so much chemistry between two people in my entire life.

Summer of 2022 and I still need my Max and Meryl fix

When I was little, my dad worked for stars on ice. Meryl and Charlie were always rehearsing and I got to go in and they would teach me how to skate and do tricks with me! I was amazed when I would watch them skate. I still have their autographs and it was such a fun experience being with them! Meryl and maks are one of my favs on dwts!

can't help believing that if she got into acting she would be so good at it,.. a class act,,... an ingrid bergman, or Grace Kelly or audrey Hepburn.

They have been the very best ever from any other season. Beautiful chemistry from both! Bravo!!! Every movement was so precise and absolutely exquisite. ❤ Eveyone who watched this season of DWTS were left speechless by every breath taking performance of these two. I think she was in love and he was just simply intrigued and fascinated by her excellence and capabilities of simply keeping up with him and out shining him as well. Loved her here and love her ice skating ⛸️ ❤

This used to be on wikipedia but someone removed it. And It's been a while so I'm not 100% sure if it's still true, but I think it is. Merle Davis has the highest average score out of anybody for all seasons. So if we're going off scores, she's the best dancer out of all the contestants.

Hanapetals I love Meryl and she’s definitely my favorite winner and contestant but even I can’t deny she has some Latin and ballroom experience. Ice dancers learn quite a few Latin and ballroom styles depending on the dance step requirements for each year of competition. I do think it must be different for her learning them in heels and on wood floors compared to skates and ice. Neither she or Charlie had perfect technique in every one of their dances as brilliant as they were on DWTS. While Adam Rippon was a figure skater and not an ice dancer, his DWTS partner, Jenna, said that Adam had trouble with some of the footwork because his feet were so used to being flat in his skates.
