I love how the USA couple used every piece of their music. Impeccably choregraphed. Everybody loves the Russian couple but they didn't use their music, especially in the beginning of the program, towards the end the did. The USA couple just did soooooo good at it. I felt like I was actually watching people skating to a song not just throwing their arms around and doing lifts while music plays. Beautiful performance from both couple, I just loved the USA one so much!

I didnt like Americans took silver in 2010 that I thought must belong to my favourite Domnina Shabalin but their skills and artistism grew tremendously. Unbelivable speed and unique choreography (thanks to the Russian coach ahah) and passion. They are obviously the best. I do enjoy their skating so much. They look so cute together, and they are so nice in kiss and cry, their reaction makes me feel warm. Canadians in opposite could have covered their enviness better. I ve never watched interviews of the American pair but Charlie seems to be a kind guy.

Ok we watched this and agree that the first couple mesmerized from start to finish!! Effortless, gliding, graceful without pushing off, up or bouncing into a lift... this is "Ice Skating" constant movement as if on air!!!! They use what I call the pendulum principle for energy instead of pushing, thrusting etc and it makes the whole experience wonderful!!! They got ripped!! I love the Americans and for me she has the perfect body most amazing wonderful smile that literally makes you smile and their outfits were incredible!!!! But even upon re watching again Kaitlyn and Andrew were the best performance and make us virtually swoon at their movement, elegance and grace, speed, smoothness, floating and levitation!!! They should have gotten Gold US silver and then its a toss up. The Russians came out in attitude strong and I was so excited to see that but it left me with disappointment as they never really did anything aggressive and there outfits were a detractor as her over floofy skirt got in the way and his black plain outfit lost the lines and fitness of movement on the ice. Good but not attention keeping. The clown outfits were OK and got the vagabond concept but not played out, good but again not awe inspiring. In the end for me and the intelligent woman watching with me agree, we were awe struck and could not nor wanted to take our eyes off nor talk except to go "wow" with our jaws open with Kaitlyn and Andrew and Meryl and Charlie...

Davis and White were outstanding, and it's clear to see why, during their competitive years together, they were the only team Virtue & Moir could not consistently beat. Even in spite of Virtue & Moir's second Olympic gold, Davis and White have the more impressive record during their mutually competitive seasons. See below: During their eight years of competing against each other from the 06-07 season through the 13-14 season, D&W and V&M met in 19 international competitions. The breakdown is as follows: Simple victories over each other, regardless of placement: V&M 10, D&W 9 Victories where one or both teams made the podium: V&M 9, D&W 9 Here's where it gets interesting... Gold medal victories over each other: V&M 5, D&W 9 If we remove the Four Continents Championship because it's not part of the official Grand Prix season lineup the results are: Simple victories over each other, regardless of placement: V&M 7, D&W 8 Victories where one or both teams made the podium: V&M 6, D&W 7 Gold medal victories over each other: V&M 3, D&W 7 Total golds from ALL international competitions (no exhibitions): V&M 14, D&W 22 Total golds without Four Continents: V&M 11, D&W 19 When it comes to winning gold medals during their time together, it's no contest; D&W where easily the more accomplished team. D&W won 5 consecutive GPF titles, defeating V&M in all of the four times they met there. In fact, V&M only have 1 GPF title, earned two years after D&W retired. They also defeated V&M in every competition where they met for two straight years leading into the Sochi Games, where D&W again defeated V&M, ending their amateur careers as easily the superior dance team in international competition, even in spite of V&M's Olympic gold on home ice in 2010. Please V&M fans, don't lose your minds and send me ugly messages. The point here isn't to trash V&M's accomplishments, but to make clear that regardless of their second Olympic gold medal, they are quite obviously NOT the "greatest ice dance team of all time", especially when their entire international career is taken into account and compared apples to apples for only the common years they competed against specific teams.

@@barbaraidso Yes, isn't it interesting? It's so common for people to focus on just V&M's second Olympic gold and claim they're the "greatest" ice dance team in history, but if two Olympic golds is all you need to be the best "ever", then Katarina Witt must be the greatest ladies skater of all time, even better than Kim Yuna, an assumption I think most people would disagree with. When an Olympic gold is put back in the context of a larger career and compared properly, it becomes clear that the Olympics is just one more competition among many others, a competition in which the best skaters sometimes don't win. Like any competition, the Olympics is about winning the night and isn't really an accurate barometer of a skater's overall career. Adelina Sotnikova, anyone? So V&M winning a second Olympic gold means only that; they have two Olympic gold medals. To really gauge the "greatness" of a skater, pair or team, it's the career that has to be taken into consideration and with V&M it's more revealing than most would think, especially where Davis and White are concerned. It must also be remembered that some of the most accomplished and decorated skaters like Michelle Kwan never win Olympic gold. So, informal titles and even Olympic golds have to be taken with a grain of salt.

Tessa and Scott are the youngest ice dance olympic champions, the only ice dancers who won the olympic gold in their first olympics. They have a career super grand slam which means they've won every major international title at least once (jgpf, Junior worlds, senior gpf, worlds, 4cc and olympic games) Also only 6 skaters have grand slam : Yuna Kim, Maxim Trankov, Aljona Savchenko, Alina Zagitova and Virtue/Moir . It's rare cause it means you need to be good, talented and succesful from the beginning. And VM were succesful right after being seniors, while DW didn't make the world podium until 2010 VM already had 2 world medals. And I'd like to point that out, VM were dealing with a major injury most of the time during their senior career (Tessa has Chronic compartment syndrome and had two surgeries and even after that she was in pain because of her legs and had to relearn how use her muscles differently in order to avoid pain) so they couldn't compete first half of 2008-09 season and only competed at worlds in 2010 - 11 season so it's normal that DW has more titles of gpf (and no offence but in 2013 gpf dw made mistakes in both SD and FD however it was already decided that they were gonna win the olympics because they gained the momentum so even after the mistakes they were gifted with gold in gpf maybe you won't agree it's okay I don't try to disrespect) And these breaks effected vm's momentum. They were second in 2008 worlds maybe they would've win 2009 worlds if Tessa would'nt have injury, or would've win 2011 worlds if they could've compete that season Aside from that VM were always skating something new, different. They have versatility, imagine skating Funny Face and then skating Carmen next season. Tessa and Scott also have greatest skating skills (you can watch their sochi FD video, woman commentator says so either), great posture and longevity which all make them memorable and inspirational. (Most of the junior teams say that VM are their idols even senior teams like Stepanova/Bukin, Sinitsina/Katsalapov and more say that. They 've changed the ice dance, have great dancing and skating skills, made people feel emotions and became the talk of 2018 games (Some people even dressed as Tessa and Scott for Halloween,) They are the greatest ice dancers of history , not just because of their titles and golds (even though they are the most decorated ice dancers of all time even without the team event medals) but also the quality of their skating, the iconic programs, feelings they made people feel, the way they overcame every obstacle through their career... They will always be remembered
