Hi we are thinking of getting 2 Indiam ringneck parrots. Should we get 2 of them, if yes then of what sex and one thing to be kept in mind is that they will be kept in the same cage

I would never keep two ringneck parrots in the same cage unless you 100% no they are bonded. To many things could go wrong, they have been known to kill each other out of jealousy or simply because they don’t like each other. Regardless I would always keep them in separate cages. It’s never guaranteed that two birds get along, in fact Ricco was picked on by his sister as a baby. He was really stressed when I got him as she wouldn’t allow him to eat. If you are not planning on breeding, this is another situation that may or may not happen if you get a make or female. It’s also more difficult to work with two birds at tue same time, especially if you’ve never had any experience with ringneck parrots. It’s difficult to say what could happen, is there a reason you want two ringneck parrots?

Hi there, I love watching your videos!!❤ I wanted to ask you a question to see if you have any idea what it means as I can't find anything online. But i have a 7 year old indian ringneck and I've noticed something he started doing was when he sat under my hair in the evenings he will start to open amd close his beak in short rhythmic movements and sometimes have a slight occasional shiver with it. Do you know if this is concerning like a possible illness or is he just getting too hot/ cold?

Sometimes when they do a slight poof or shiver before they relax it’s normal. Is he acting, eating and pooping normal otherwise? If you are able to take a video of it when he’s doing it that would be helpful, I’m on Instagram and Facebook.
