I have had this light strip for a few months now and have had one issue with it not connecting. After a reboot of my wifi it worked fine. I had the same issue with my 32ft light strip but I did the same as before and connected again no problem. As far as the light bulbs go. I have had an issue with the standard rgb led light where it just stopped working. I contacted meross and they sent me a new one as it was still within warranty. I have also had the same issue with the flood lights. One quit working, but it was still under warranty so they sent me a new one! They have great, very responsive customer service. I am a big fan of them.

I am kind of obsessed with light strips. I haven’t gotten a chance to check out any of the Meross offerings. My current go-to is the Nanoleaf Essentials with Tread. Super review as always!

The Nanoleaf one is a good choice for sure! It's great that there are so many options for HomeKit light strips!

Great video, I really like the Meross products I have purchased. Recently I have purchased the Smart floor lamp and a couple months ago, the non pro light strip for my sons room, super impressed with their reliability given they are wifi. Integrate easily with scenes and using other companies switches to control such as Aqara and Hue. Might need to get one again soon, thanks for sharing the links!

Thanks for a great video. My 8 yr old daughter watched this with me and ask me to do this to the back of her dresser 😃. Think I will also do it around my entertainment stand. Would you mind telling me what product is that on your dresser and also the lamps on your nightstands by your bed.

Great review, thanks! I personally decided for myself that I'm not buying smart accessories that don't support Thread. It's basically a deal-breaker for me, and I believe should be a concern for others. If you aim to build something reliable at home that you shouldn't reconnect eventually because it somehow stopped working then it's either Thread or should be supported by a hub. These are my thoughts.

Thanks Leo - I get it. Thread would be a nice addition so hopefully Meross starts adding thread radios to their accessories in the future.

My light strips are (3)Hue, (1)Nanoleaf and (1)Onvis. I have them behind both tvs, under bed, above kitchen cabinets and on the back porch railing. I’m thinking about doing the DIY WLED project really soon. Love the video

Hi thanks for the video. I have a few question, once you cut the cable, can you reattach it again? I am in the situation where I’d need a 3 m length in my bedroom and about 6,2 m in my kitchen. If I buy two of these Meross Led Strips Pro, can I elongate one to make it a 6,2 m long led strip? I know this is possible with the normal non Pro Meross Led strip, but haven’t found anything on the pro. The manual states, that the included adapter can only provide electricity for up to 5.15 meters of lightstrip, though. So I would probably have to look for a more potent power adapter. Also, on a similar note, would 5 pin corner adapters work with this led strip or do I have to use the loop technique to come around the corners? And one last question, is it possible to program a Philips Hue Dimmer to control the Meross Led strip? As both are presentable in Apple HomeKit I don’t see why it wouldn’t work at least for turning in on and off. As for the dimming I am not so sure…

Hi MaTiCek, Unfortunately the 5M can't be extended, and once it's cut, it can't be reattached (unless there is an unauthorized work-around that I'm not aware of). For 6.2M you would need to use two light strips with 2 power supplies. You could program each button of the Philips Hue Dimmer to turn them on/off, or maybe a particular colour/brightness, however, it wouldn't dim up/down like when used with Hue lights. Hope that helps.

Do you know what the deal is with controlling these strips on different networks? I obviously typically stay connected to my 5ghz work network but can’t seem to control these lights which only connect to 2.4. Is that normal or am I missing something? New to this and it’s quite annoying to have to change what network I’m connected to just to adjust my lights.

Nice video. I’m new with using smart home products and want to buy this lights but I’d like to know as probably 5 mts is going to be too much to cover the back of my tv. Can I cut some lights to use them some where else?

Hello and thank you. Yes, you can cut it, however, you can't reuse the left-over unfortunately. This is the case with most LED strips.

The Nanoleaf one is more expensive for a shorter length. But I agreed, it's a great light strip! Though the Meross light strip is a great option if you want to spend less. Perfect for a kids room or maybe a rec room.

UPDATE NOV 2022 Well, my relationship with Meross is coming to an end. My light strip is finally giving up. The connectors between sections started failing and now there are sections that display the wrong color or don’t turn on at all. I’m also replacing my last two Meross bulbs for two PH white ambiance ones. Too many issues, sadly, because it seemed like a good alternative. In Mexico we have a saying: “lo barato sale caro” (picking the cheap stuff turns out to be expensive) Bye, bye Meross 👋🏼 hello Philips Hue light strip My Meross light strip was one of the first smart products I bought. Even though I had a bad experience with the brand’s smart plugs, I must say I LOVE my smart light strip. It has withstand numerous power outages and my sloppy work with the scissors to attach it to an extension. I wasted quite a few inches ruining the connectors. 5.5 meters helped me cover my headboard, both night tables, one corner shelf and my dresser. I’m ver happy with the results. My only advice y cutting with utmost care to join two pieces of light strip. To do this you’ll have to buy a not included set of connectors and cable
