Sad looking back, not realizing at the time it was going to be the last meetup, and even mermaid swim, for so many of us. Soooo looking forward to things getting back to normal and swimming with everyone again!

I love running across your videos. I just got my first tail this year and now I'm on the hunt for an actual monofin. (They didn't send the real thing) :( but, it's ok because I found out I can make certain things work and do modifications and everything. All in all, I absolutely found out I love mermaiding and it's challenging and fun:)

Well they’re mainly a kid brand but yea, it’s nice that adults can get cheap fabric tails too.

I totally want to go to one of these! So sad I can’t. Luckily there are videos like these!

I’m several years under 18, I live in a very midwestern state in the US, and I have no friends that would ever want to start mermaiding, but I really really want to get into the hobby. Is mermaiding just for adults, or can I do it too? How can I find people to swim with me? I have no idea what to do?

Also, I don’t own a tail yet because I don’t want to get one and never be able to use it. Also, I’m anxious and socially awkward, so I can’t just find a pool and swim on my own.

You can totally do it I got my first tail at age seven just takes a lot of convincing I'd recommend telling your parents what good exercise it is

hi! im turning 17 in like, two months. i have a fabric tail and monofin (but theyre old so-) and its perfectly okay to do this as a kid! just tell your parents about it and all, try to get a good tail (finfun is a good brand but a biiit pricey) and make sure you know how to swim properly! if you'd like, i can dm you some video links through instagram or something similar! i know some videos that give tips and all on how to do this properly :)

I started when I was in 3rd grade give or take. (I’m 13, going into 8th now.) Try to find a quality fabric tail and monofin in your price range. And most importantly, make sure you are a stronger swimmer!!! Practice really does help. I don’t have any friends into it, either, but that is fine. You can enjoy it well on your own too. I don’t really know how to find people, to be honest. I hope somebody else can help you with that. (I’m sorry for late reply.)

There's a similar convention in the United Kingdom called Merfolk UK. Here's footage of it (the 2019 gathering): kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZIhlq7Cvf9G5j7A.html The thing is though, with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, or depending on how bad it is in the UK, they might have postponed all future conventions and gatherings until further notice.

Do they sell mono fins and tails at mermagicon? Is it just like a normal convention filled with fellow mermaids? I really want to go.
