MERIDA HOME TOUR | Visit 3 Luxury Colonial Homes in Centro, Merida
Merida Home and Garden Tours
This week we're taking you along as we visit three amazing colonial homes in downtown Merida, Mexico. Every week, the Merida English Library hosts a walking tour to three new homes, showcasing some of Merida's incredible architecture. If you're anything like us and you're constantly wondering what various houses look like on the inside, then this walking tour is for you!
➡️ The first house's architect and designer was Maya Ruz Baker at Binomio (www.binomiotaller.com)

House #3
All the houses were amazing! However, the library’s community activities and involvement…wow!!! Thanks for sharing!
I've owned a home in Merida for almost 7 years now. It's always great to see examples of how other people used space. And I now have some gardening ideas!
Wow the wall hide all the beauty. Amazing
I loved them all but think the third was my favorite.
When I first got here I went to MEL and went on a tour but since Covid haven't been back. Can't wait to start going again and meeting some of you cool folks! 💕
I love the blue and white colors
Wonderful. Especially #1 and the pool in #2! Stunning esthetic.
Ok I had no idea how dope the MEL was!!!
last one was AMAZING!
Great video. Alfonso's English is amazing.
Hi guys I love the heart ❤️ of this library and the manGer is so sweet and well intentioned. Just a shout out to him, the library and both of you from your Q-brother. Its early December boys: Go experience Christmas in San Miguel de Allende ! Cheers Lane
The third was my best
LOVE the shower in #1 with the garden outside the window. Oh the secrets of "what's behind the walls" in Mexico. The way Alfonso calls the children "the tiny members" was so cute. And his English is excellent. The MEL is an excellent resource - Anne
I liked the first home but they are all beautiful🤩 This library is awesome for the community. I would be so busy! It would be a great place to volunteer and give of your gifts.
Ooooooo…my fav was the last one…OMG‼️❤️🇲🇽 Fun video guys 💃🏻
#2 was my favorite. Very livable and beautiful art!
Those homes were BEYOND. It's too hard to pick my favorite, but if you twisted my arm, I'd say the last home... the bold choices in design and color and the pool/garden area was dreamy. WOW.
There is no way that the last house was your favorite, so busy! so much stuff

This was a great tour. All three houses were amazing. I have to say that house number one was my favorite because of the transformation that took place. Happy New Year:)

Absolutely love this profile of the MEL. Makes me even more eager to live in Merida!
How can you choose between 3 paradise homes? I love #2's pool, #1's decor, and #3's garden. Fabulous content this week! Thank you and Happy New Year.💖

Those houses are unbelievable! Thanks for sharing. It’s so interesting walking down the streets there, you see long walls of different colours and big front doors, but behind those doors is a little wonderland sometimes. All of the houses were great. I think #2 interior, #3 exterior. And omg! All those amazing things the library offers. How cool!

I liked the first one but that courtyard area of the last one was spectacular!
All beautiful homes! I love the color and gardens! Incredible!
The second one
Wow! Que bonito
Thanks guys, great info. Happy New Year 🎆.
All of them are beautiful in different ways. #1 would be my choice in interior style. #2 & #3 exterior and pools and garden are beautiful!
Muy interesante !!!
Fabulous video! Great services by MEL
That is such an amazing library, makes me want to move there! I will visit in a month, thank you for sharing!
All 3 homes were beautiful. My favorite was #3!!
Thank you for this awesom video. That library sounds like a great resource.
Those homes are beautiful, I loved all of them, I think the 3rd one takes the prize, the garden/pool area is a winner. Great tour guys. Hope you have a great 2022
I liked all the homes. Each home has its own vibe. It is very difficult to choose just one. I was more impressed with the library. It is awesome! I wish MEL were in my community. In fact, my city council members should visit MEL in order to create the same type of library in my hometown. Happy new year! I look forward to spending another year with you.
Very beautiful houses, thanks for taking us along! And the library guy is very camera natural. Thanks for all the tips Alfonso 😊 Ahhhh the door! I remember, seems like years now 😂
love your content
GREAT info
All three houses were beautiful. But my favorite was the third one.
This was one of my favorite episodes. Number three was my favorite home, but they were all lovely. I wish I was a minimalist, but no matter how hard I try I revert right back into maximalist. Thank you for all you do.

The library sounds great. All three houses were great! Will you be attending other library events? How about the language exchange?
I prefer houses that blend in & look common placed on the outside but inside they’re spectacular. IMO heavily investing in curb appeal is another way to keep up with the Jonses. (Aside from maintenance related work) People live indoors that’s where they should invest their funds. Invest in your convenience, preferences, needs, customize your living space to make it your personal oasis. 💕 controversial opinion I know. 🤷🏻♀️ All these homes are lovely that was a treat. Thanks for sharing
Have you very been in Mexico Estado de México?? At the north area as Cuautitlan Izcalli as invest to retired , it is so close from Mexico city and have everything to give the american retired people good quality life...h

Loving your videos. My wife and I would love your opinion on where you would recommend for an investment airbnb, Centro or the modern North? We love Centro, but curious your thoughts. Thanks.
@TravelWTravis
2 жыл бұрын
Such a good question and we talk about this all the time. We think for short term visitors, Centro is obviously appealing as there are so many walkable things to see/do/eat. However, for longer-term digital nomads and people who are looking for monthly stays (where AirBnb seems to be heading), the North is super appealing because you can get higher-end, new condos/townhomes which if you styled properly would be HIGHLY attractive to people who are coming to stay in Merida for a couple months to work and use as a home base, especially if you got in a building with amenities like a pool/gym/etc. Soooo this probably doesn't answer your question and if we were buying today, we're truly not sure which we'd pick (although we'd lean towards the North as the development is exploding and there are just so many opportunities), but hopefully that's helpful! Good luck with your search!

@@TravelWTravis super helpful! Some good food for thought. I also like the idea of mid/longer term tenant than lots of short stays.

a friend of mine is thinking about moving to Merida from Texas, are vaccine pasports being implemented there?? he wont lije that being from Texas, as they are fully open.

Hi, Thanks for your video. You mentioned that you need vaccination card , I heard that in Mexico there is no mandate or restrictions for vaccine. Is that right? Could you please explain about it🙏
@TravelWTravis
2 жыл бұрын
There aren’t any federal mandates (yet), but there are state and local mandates across the country. Merida doesn’t have a mandate, but businesses are free to require whatever they’d like of their customers, and the library asks all participants to be vaccinated.
Hey guys! I’m living in Montana but am considering moving to Merida! (Born in riverside). I watched your video on the monte neighborhoods and was hoping you could give me a list of all neighborhoods that you think would be good for ex pats. Any help is appreciated. Thank you

Hey Jay! Because it’s so varied, we’d just recommend planning a trip to visit first so you can check out all the neighborhoods around town to get a feel for yourself (and also see if you can tolerate the heat!). Most foreigners start off in Centro, and then explore the surrounding barrios to see what’s a good fit for them!

Speaking of first place you stayed, where would you recommend to use as a lodging base to investigate Merida for a week? Looking for $60 per night average, or so. Walking, proximity to restaurants, overview of expat options (tengo pinche gringo guey espanol de calle).
