This song means the world to me, 😢 its water works. Happy and sad at the same time. I just wish i can spend a few more laughs with my dad or grandma. My gardeners

Weird how a song can be sad/happy. I know what you mean, though. Happy memories often seem blurred by a deep melancholy of what could have been.
just learned of this cover and its astounding. Huge Bobbie Gentry fan and this song breaks my heart. They do it justice.

BETH ORTON gives her all in this cover. Both versions from Bobbie Gentry and Beth Orton get my heart breaking. Making me want to cry. It's is just so beautiful.

This always does me in, the first few verses is like my time machine of good memories. Not wanting to let go of loved ones. The years fly and this always does it to recall the moments that are haunting.

Whoa. Have never heard Beth belt and wail like this before. If this is new direction for her, I’m all ears. The ethereal arrangement is a great backdrop for her raw emotion. No slight to Lucinda Williams, but this is the track that should’ve closed the album.

@Roy Polloi I've always loved Beth's voice, but this particular performance kicks me in the gut. Wish I could have attended the brief tour she did with Mercury Rev singing the whole album.
This is a wondrous track and the full album is packed with beauty and joy . Loving it.
