    Hey man! Really nice job on this video. I’ve been looking for power upgrades for my ‘05 Grand Marquis and there aren’t many options that don’t cost more than the car’s worth (I.e., 3.73, supercharger, etc). I’m going to have to research this a little more because it’s within my skill range and might be a good option. Thanks again! P.s. nice SKX!

    Good video man. I wouldn't do all the steps you did, or even buy a TB spacer, but it's the fun of tryin different mods n see what works for you. Everybody on here is gonna have an opinion and some are right, some not so much. As long as you're not doin irreversible damage to your Panther have at it. I own a 05 Grand Marquis (the strange one) and have got it over 350 HP. Ppl always ask "Why do you try to get that Granny car goin instead of just getting a car that could be better suited for aftermarket torque and speed mods?". I just tell em Hey...I just love this type of car. And I like the challenge of trying to get every ounce out of it. I'll learn from trial n error and did. I'm a few more steps away from having a real sleeper that'll surprise ppl. It's the journey that's fun, n how much $$ yur willing to risk for a few more ponies. Keep it up! ✌🏽️

    @@LoveWhatYouDrive By all means, I agree. I had purchased a throttle body spacer for my 06 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor and then got a tune kit from Moe's Speed Shop (as mentioned earlier). I installed the spacer and then dyno tested it in addition to sending it down a quarter mile track. There wasn't ant increase of performance outside of the margin of error. When I got the tune kit, I had to let Marty know about any modifications I had on the car, as it was a remote tune. He told me I could keep it on, but I wasn't going to see any benefits. He's been doing this kind of work for decades and I'd encourage you to reach out to him if you want to really increase the performance of your Grand Marquis, which I really like, by the way. Maybe you could purchase a tuner kit from him and review that, too?

    How noticeable was the change in performance? Did you notice anything other than quicker throttle response? I have an 06 town car that I am considering doing this and some other mods. Looking at doing this next along with an exhaust cutout right after the H pipe

    Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate your time! To be 100% honest, besides a throttle response I have not noticed a neck snapping gain. One of the viewers suggested that stand alone spacer is little to almost none gains. But if you start adding intake filter, intake tube, or maybe a crown Vic intake, a bigger throttle bottle and such things I believe you can definitely add a pep to your step! I did a drop-in performance filter (not K&N) in my stock air box, changed new plugs that are properly gapped, changed fuel filter, transmission fluid and filter, and now I am enjoying extra gains especially after 2500rpm. It’s sounds louder has more go and I do not regret spending my time for this little mod and all the others that follow! For me it’s about the experience and the journey! I’ll stop the rant! Thanks again!

Engines, Transmissions, and Rear-end gear ratios are matched at the Factory. Installing shorter gears WILL give better off-the-line acceleration -- BUT -- you will drastically SHORTEN the LIFE of your Engine AND Transmission, not to mention the POOR Fuel Mileage, and the cash flowing from your wallet. 😁

As a matter of fact, many of us will probably never have a chance to get our vehicles on a dyne or something along those lines. Since that's the case many of us will just have to go by how the car feels and whether we love it or not. and at this point the car has better throttle response and more getup and go. its not neck breaking or tire shredding results, but experimenting with small and cheap things like this is what makes it fun! have you tried the spacer in your cars? what was your result?

  • @BeKindToBirds
    @BeKindToBirds2 жыл бұрын

    Those plastic teeth are helping shape the airflow so that it flows into the corner down to the engine better. Taking them out just created a worse traffic jam at the part where the intake curves down and created more back pressure into the intake and less laminar flow into the intake manifold. Also I don't see what adding a few cm of length to the distance is supposed to do, make the car run more lean by tricking the ecu into a fractionally larger air charge? (Seriously it is lowering pressure inside the manifold more than anything here. Is that what the sensor reset is for?) Really it looks like intake plenum volume change and you aren't going to be seeing any gains until you are increasing from 2-8 times your displacement. A little ring isn't doing it, I think this is a scam and the car's designers knew what they were doing. Anyway excellent video in clarity and production. I don't think I'll do it but I have subscribed to your channel and am going to check out more of what you have made.

    @Christopher Sierra first of all, thanks for watching and commenting! I appreciate your feedback and engagement. From my own research and watching and reading much about this throttle body mod, I don’t believe there is such a significant change or mod to have to have the computer programmed. The car computer will make adjustments accordingly to more air or fuel if needed. It’s such a tiny mod that it doesn’t have to try hard to accommodate. I am working on a video update on this matter after driving it around since the install. Definitely will tell you right off the bat, that if you are looking for neck snapping horsepower, this is not it by a long shot. Is it somewhat responsive on the gas pedal? Yes, is it the next greatest power gain? No. Look out for the next video and more to come! Thanks for stopping by!

It almost sounds like a small (and i do mean small) turbo. It only comes after hitting the gas. I don't mind the sound. I honestly think it makes the car sound more lively. That oem gasket is doing the same thing that spacer is doing it swirls the air like a tornado. The theory is tumbling air is more efficient has more molecules of oxygen than a straight air shot and it flows around corners better. I have a 2007 F150 with the 5.4 installed a Poweraid spacer the same theory applies the bore of the spacer has a coarse thread milled in to it promoting a tornado affect. Oem head design has also adapted this calling the tumble effect the air effectively swirls from small dams cast around the intake valve this mixes the fuel with the air in a homogenous mixture aka 100% efficient. Does it work I did notice more torque off the line but full throttle no difference the airstream moving too fast at higher rpm ignores the outer stream swirl. That gasket that has fins protruding filling 30% of the airflow will work over a broader range of rpm. In a nutshell if you have no finned gasket you may find no difference if you dont in the lower rpm range these things shine.

    LOL Makes as much change in perfomrance and power as switching to LED headlights does. Actually, by removing the vanes you destroyed the vortice flow and decreased the air flow and density. You probably lost horsepower and torque by cutting those out. And the spacing does absolutely nothing. In fact, if anything, you want as short a length of flow as possible, not make it longer.

  • @johngaltline9933

    All late, LED headlights actually give you much more of a performance kick. They use less power than the halogen stock ones, so there’s less drag on the alternator, at least in theory. That said, the reflectors in the headlights are designed for a single point light source at an exact position. You get far less light where you actually need it, and a bunch of useless light blinding other drivers and lighting the sky when you use led bulbs in stock composite shells. And by much more, I mean a barely measurable improvement that is functionality nothing, but still far more than this crap.
