Mercedes dealerships refer to an oil change as Service A and charge $200-$250 for it!! You can easily do your own oil and oil filter change on your Mercedes for $35-$40. Then inspect your fluid levels, look at your brakes, check your tire pressure, reset the maintenance counter and voila you saved $200 by doing your own "Service A" maintenance. How to replace the Oil and Oil Filter on a Mercedes-Benz SLK 230 Kompressor 1996-2004 (r170 generation) with a Bosch C7830WS. This was performed on a 2003 SLK, yours will be very similar.

How do I reset the service maintenance after change the oil?
Didn't mention after filling the oil, run the engine for a minute or two, check for any leak, then let it sit 4 minutes or five, then check oil level.
SAME WORK FOR SLK200 2007?
Is there suppose to be oil inside where oil filter goes…like doesn’t it drain?
