One thing ppl should ALWAYS keep in mind; internet is made for complaining. If more ppl like this guy posted their actual experiences then this car wouldn't have the rep it does.

I think a lot of the bad rep euro cars get in general is because they buy the car based off the price because you can get these cars for a very good deal compared to original msrp but can’t afford the maintenance or aren’t willing to try and fix things on their own. Only exception is the b5 s4’s those seem to actually be as unreliable as the stories say.

My mom bought a used 2007 s65 in 2013, paid 53K for it. Every year something expensive breaks and she always takes it to the dealership with extended warranty for them to maintain the car. Now it's worth between 22 and 33k tops and it's cost her more than it's worth. She cant sell it for a price that makes her happy and she's a 93 year old lady who hasn't driven it much. It's a piece of Junk! She'll never buy Mercedes again, they are prone to breaking often and do not hold their value.

@@DivergentDroid have you ever considered that the reason something expensive breaks is because she does not drive it S65s are prone to expensive repairs if you leave them sitting. Furthermore, 22-33k is normal in the US for an S65. Those depreciate a lot. That’s what tends to happen with age. Also, did you seriously think a formerly 200k vehicle would have the same repair costs as an economy vehicle?

@@erichknodel4334 She was talked into this by my corrupt brother in law. He told her it was a Saxs Fifth Avenue s600 special edition with only 20 made. I even have a ton of paperwork he gave to her with the car that talks about those special editions. She was in her mid 80's when he did this. She didn't know. Previously she had driven a Toyota Camery and someone hit her and her husband which caused him to die, so my crooked brother in laws reasoning was to get her a car that wouldn't harm her if it got hit again. I'm thinking it was all a smoke screen and he pocked probably 20K. He bought the car at police auction. It has belonged to a drug dealer in New York who is currently sitting in jail.

Personally it think better with the right maintenance, alot of people regret coilovers. if you dont have a pool of oil under the car you can reseal the valve block for about $50. And you can maintain the lines by replacing the 4 accumulators, the dampen the fluid pressure to keep the lines safe, fcp euro sells all 4 for about $550. Should be replaced every 6-8 years and its pretty easy the look like a cannonball ans thread in.
