Great job ! I worked with vinyl for over 30 years. There are so many types. Here's something you may not have known: The backing ( the slippery paper you throw away ) is run through what's called a release coater. Release is applied evenly on that backing. It then goes through a long ovens, temperature is about 250 degrees. The vinyl ( the face material ) is run through an oven @ about 225 degrees. That makes the vinyl softer and pliable. The backing then goes through an adhesive coater. The amount of adhesive applied is what's called a coating weight. The heavier the coating weight, the pricier the vinyl. It then goes through an oven again, then both the vinyl and backing are brought through a laminator. Once laminated, it transfer the adhesive to the vinyl. The standard widths of the vinyl are 54" or 60" wide. From there, it goes to a slitter, and is cut in designated widths that a customer has requested. There were four major manufacturers at one time. Avery, MACtac, Fassons and of course 3M. The thinner the vinyl the more brittle it is to work with. I wrapped my first car in 1988. People thought I had lost my mind. Until they saw the finished product. Ü Wrap on, Brother.

Hello Carolina, I wish everyone that's really interested in wrapping could see the vinyl manufacturing process. It's an incredible process. Christian did get to see a little of the process, but because of rules of the vinyl manufacturing process, they don't want anyone to see how the ' sausage ' is made. If there's anyone that I would love to have seen the complete process, it's Christian. He'd have been very impressed. If you cut me I'd bleed blood, if you cut Christian, he's bleed vinyl. I hope Christian's honesty, hard work, knowledge and craftsmanship comes through to everyone. Christian's character and dedication to his craft are impeccable. On top of that he's just really a nice guy. I put Christian in that rare category of " they don't make them like that anymore. " Thank you for writing, Carolina. Best of luck to you ! My best, Scott

Pretty amazing how the stuff returns to its original shape after being stretched and wrinkled and heated and cooled and heated again... and how the adhesive pretty much only sticks when you want it to. Much more forgiving than I would have guessed.
