As before, the new GLC has also been explicitly designed for off-road driving, and is prepared for this use with several new features and systems. Standard equipment includes an off-road driving mode and DSR (Downhill Speed Regulation). The plug-in models of the new GLC already offer a driving experience of the future: all-electric off-road driving. This comes with many advantages: since the electric motor's full torque of 440 Nm is available from the very first engine revolution, its power is very easy to control at all times. This allows highly precise, controlled driving even in challenging terrain. In addition, because the electric motor only consumes energy when it is actually moving the vehicle, and the power demand is comparatively low when driving slowly as is usual when off-road, a long all-electric driving time is possible even in demanding terrain.
In off-road mode, the GLC with 360-degree camera offers a "transparent bonnet": The central display shows a virtual view under the front of the vehicle, including the front wheels and their steering position. This is extremely helpful: it enables the driver to recognise obstacles such as large stones or deep potholes in the vehicle's path at an early stage.
The new off-road screen uses both displays for clearly arranged information, controls and functions. Among other things, the driver's display shows, inclination, gradient, topographical altitude, geo-coordinates and a compass, as well as road speed and engine speed when operating with an internal combustion engine. The central display additionally shows e.g. the current position of the SUV in the terrain as well as the steering angle of the front wheels, and if rear-wheel steering is available, the steering direction of the rear wheels. All the driving functions relevant for off-road operation can be controlled very easily on one screen.
The Engineering package (optional) with AIRMATIC air suspension including level control and rear-axle steering also brings its comfort advantages to bear when off-road, where it offers additional benefits. For example, AIRMATIC allows a high ground clearance off-road, regardless of the load, and a long suspension travel for the best possible traction. The rear-axle steering increases off-road manoeuvrability even further.

I did an off road, was fun but got the rims mangled and the skirt bent. Dont do it with your own car rather do it while on a joyride.

For off roading there is nothing better then Japanese vehicles especially Toyota ones, Reliable, simple beautiful and long lasting vehicles.
99% of GLC will never experience such off road, majority some gravel but many just tarmac

Not gonna lie I’m looking into trying overlanding and was thinking it would be cool to try this car cuz it would be super different but man the parts would be hard to have to custom fab everything lol
With the rear steering wheel the suv looks like has done damage 😬
This is probably the first and last time anyone does any off-roading in a 2023 GLC. The most off-roading anyone does in these cars is hopping up on a curb by accident while a mom is picking up their children from soccer practice.
5:16 mercedes' awd calculations are pretty bad right now. sensors from the drivetrain in each wheel should know that the wheel has lost points to friction. immediately transfer power to the remaining wheel or the remaining 3 wheels. like this is a waste of 4-wheel gear ratio
the driver skills are more prominent then the car itself.

merc, rang rover obviously very capable for normal off road.. the problem is not many owner who meannie enough to bringvtgeir merc to going hard off road.. compare owner is subaru outback, that first time they get their car, they cannot wait to bring it to wilderness

Probably about 8.5in which is standard. The only lux SUV that get 11.5 is Volvo xc90, some range rovers, and jeep grand Cherokee.

Exactly, this type of car can go on some gravel road, honestly if you need off road car choose land cruiser or something such category
Any average 4x4 would do that , driven by someone capable. Show us the same video with exactly the same car (same tyres) after a week of rain.
Auto che riesce a pieno fare un off road, ma a che prezzo? Dopo un percorso così, si è fortunati se non ci sono danni. Penso che nessuno sano di mente, porterà la propria Glc a fare questo. Per il resto auto bella, con uso a 360 gradi.

You clearly demonstrated the problem with new cars and their huge tv screen center consoles. You took your eyes off the road every single time you wanted to do anything. You know how long it takes for an animal or small child to run in front of your car, about half the time you had your eyes off the road. The NTSB is looking into these massive screens, and I hope they outlaw them, they are rediculously dangerous

A parte frontal deste carro é a mais feia dentre os SUVS disponíveis no mercado hoje, não há fluidez de elementos nem combinação estética, o detalhe horizontal que acompanha o símbolo da marca é horrível sem contar que o para-lamas parece que descompensa toda sobriedade do carro em uma única peça de tantos elementos que ele apresenta.

@@enessolhan point of plug in hybrid is to use the cheap electricity for around town errands and ICE for longer duration trip. Just gives vehicles more versatility and better mileage.
