The procedure described in this video does not reset the check engine light. It resets the indicator that the car displays to notify you that the vehicle is due for a service (e.g. an oil change). If you have a check engine light turned on, I would recommend using an engine code reader (OBD2 scanner). A lot of car parts places will read the codes for you at no charges. That will give you an idea about what the problem is and if you want to handle it yourself or not. I hope this helps.
