This 2007 W203 C220 CDI came to me with the engine light on, and would not rev above 3000 RPM.
A quick scan revealed P2511
Ideally a new part... but can we get away fixing the old one?

    It was very good explanation. I have E220 MB and existing the same problem. And if someone is struggling with bad idles and stalling engine - always first check EGR.

    quick fix, and very useful video yes, thanks, always look forward to a new video and get the bell of course. ** It looks as if it wouldn't be a big job to sleeve the housing, maybe it wouldn't even be necessary to re-size the shaft. I think maybe there are lots of old guys with a small lathe and a drill press in the garden shed who would see this as a pocket money job.

    I think it depends on the type of sensor inside, some use a hall effect where as others a potentiometer type, would expect a 5 volt feed and a varying output voltage as it moves. Motor is Normally 12v pwm which is why it whistles while it’s on.

    Awesome video. Could the faulty injector that was replaced have anything to do with the valve getting too much carbon? Eg leaking injector nozzle. If excess carbon made it into the engine because he the EGR valve stuck in an open position, would driving the car at high rev blow out the carbon gun the engine inlet? Thanks for the effort on sharing this video.

    Its on the 2.0 2.2 dti have a very similar egr I just used to take mine off and clean it also they have coolant running through them

    That's a nice and easy fix there Luis, Do you know if you have bidirectional of the Egr's on the disco3 with the 2.7 diesel engine? the Egr's has 5 wires.

    220 CDI i just remove EGR connector before 43.000 km and NO any problem, no smoke, ....the reason i remove was the car shaking morning when start and bad shaking when off.

    just done the same job on a 08 merc E220 would not rev beyond 1200rpm just cleaned it the customer baulked at the price of a new one lol. nice diag my Autel ds 808 has bi-directional control but it wanted the engine running also

    Thanks for the video, So, I have this same engine, code and similar issue, no EML, just limp mode after hard acceleration... from what I saw you do there if I just remove that plastic housing, clean and lubricate... I don't need to remove the EGR? (I have no way of testing it anyway) Cheers

    Only problem is that if it’s passing exhaust gas through the valve shaft bushing it will probably jam up again as must be worn but at least you can definitely call the diagnosis 👍

    No warranty on a fix like this... I always advise people when a replacement might be required at a later stage... It might lasts a week... it might lasts 1 year... So far did not came back... so that is a good sign...😋 Thank you for watching!

    I have a question for you and I hope that you will be able to answer it for me. I have a 1999 C230 Kompressor with 154500 miles on it. I bought it back in 2005 I believe but it had a salvage title which I had fixed what was wrong with the car and took it to be inspected and got a rebuilt title for it. It has been an excellent car and only have had to do regular maintenance that one would do on a car. So I only have liability on my car because here in the states with it being that old with a rebuilt title the insurance company wouldn't really give me anything for my car even though it is in really good condition and is just now starting to get a little rust here and there. Which I'm praying to have my ex get those places fixed and my car repainted especially after someone hit my car while I was asleep and crunched/dented the back door and about tore the bumper off but he was able to get the bumper pulled around and reattach and a Get most of the crunch/dent in the back door. So my question is being my car is 22 yrs old, I will never get any money out of it whether someone hits me and its there fault or if I were to sell it. Well I had my ex unhook the oxygen sensor to the catalytic converter to see how it would run with out it because right now I can get $550.00 just for the Catalytic converters alone. It had been running great, has more power etc. So is there another oxygen sensor elsewhere that I should unhook to see how the car will run so I can be 100% sure I want to cut it off and just put a straight pipe on it. Where I live in the states we don't have a smog test or anything like that that would be a problem. So I'm just wondering if there is any other places I should disconnect to see how it is going to run and what are your thoughts on removing it all together being I can make more money just off of the catalytic converters and still drive it then I would make off the entire car? I just need to know that it will still run good if I was to remove it completely. Here in the states those converters are going for good money off of certain cars. I got $600.00 off of the one I bought for parts so I would have what ever I would need for my car to keep it going. I paid $500 for it a d I had already made my money back off it just by the few parts I had taken off of it but now probably doubled my money off of it just with the converters alone. I hope I hear back from you. Thank you in advance.

    Also the engine light finally came on but I don't care that it is on unless there is something that I could buy that could be put on and trick the motor into thinking it still had its parts I had taken off still attached. If you know of any or what. I could do I would be greatly appreciative. Thank you.

    @@kimsikorski5691 Yes the light will be on... The only way will be to remap the CAT off on the ecu... Without the information from the sensors, the ecu will run the engine on a pre-set mixture... Thank you for watching!

    Help, Hello very good video really helpful, i still have the issue after i plug it back in, it enters in emergency mode and won't accelerate pass 3000, everything seems ok with the egr, moves and has power and the ecu has good connection, it says 2511-1 Y27/9(left egr ).signal error. It's driving me crazy because everything seems ok, its a 2006 w203 220cdi, could you somehow please, if you know, if it could be something else? Thank you

    Have you checked the actually feedback from the egr? Check the egr passages and intake for carbon build up... 👍👍👍

    @@LMAutoRepairs thank you for responding, the intake has a bit of carbon but not too much, I don't get why with it unplugged the engine works fine but as soon i plug it back in it says that code, i'll try to clean it better and see if it persists... Thanks

    Hey i have a p0401 check code, its c200 cdi w203. Took out the egr cleaned top to bottom. Valve opens freely (by hand) but when i turn on the car without the egr valve cover the valve does not move, as if its stuck. Any solutions?

    Either a faulty electric actuator, or wiring... Ideally you would try to actuate the valve using a bidirectional scan tool, if it does not actuate, check it from there... Hope that helps... 👍👍👍

    The car is in limp mode... Check the readings on live data of the EGT sensor... if out of parameters might needs replacing...

    @@LMAutoRepairs already bought an egt sensor but the sensor is behind the exhaust manifold and there is no way getting there. My last bolt on the exhaust manifold is stripped, completely bold bolt cant get it out 🥲

    Depends on the system... There is always power, some on a PWM signal... others on more sophisticated system... That's why you hear that sort of hum noise... Thank you for watching...

    I believe it is a coolant heating system... that kicks in to help he engine to reach operating temperature quicker... 👍👍👍
