Zambian living in Europe, have the same issue with esp & it's driving me up a wall

I had a fault and the fault number is B1353 ... Please help me, what was the fault number you had 🙏🙏🙏🙏

The fault codes I had were C1036 and C1172

My esp light comes on and then the car won't change gear as I'm driving

If those are not working they may need cleaning or replacing.

Great video did you have to initialize the steering angle sensor by turning the steering wheel lock to lock

To be honest I cleared the fault codes and that was it.

The process of putting the steering wheel back on is quite time-consuming. Is there any possibility to check whether everything we have done and is correct, or the angle of setting is as it should be, before putting the steering wheel back on.

You just need to keep everything the way it comes out, and it can only fit back in one way. There is no other way of checking until everything is back on. It doesn’t really take long.

hey there, could the steering angle sensor be making steering heavy?

I don’t think so, I never had that issue with an steering angle sensor going bad.

Great job! hank you. I'm not sure if you have to reset the steering position by turning all the way left and right. I have to in my W203 (2001). ;)

I don’t remember very well now but I don’t think I did.

We keep on having problem with our c200. Keeps on draining its battery. Alternator checked. No problem. Esp light is on. Can that be the culprit?

Is the battery ok ? I mean did you check its life percentage ? and well if its new the other issue might be the siren, that tends to go bad and drains the battery, I have not experience a faulty esp that drains the battery, having said that there's always a first for everything..

Our Mercedes C200 2005 model's battery is flat and "ESP faulty" message came up. Is it because of flat battery? Will it be gone once we install a new battery? Car is made in South Africa if it helps.

Hi the esp light can come on as a result of a low battery voltage, however it could also be a wheel speed sensor or the issue as per the video, so am afraid it is no guarantee that changing the battery will make the light disappear, you may also need an OBD2 to read delete the flat code. Sometimes if it is a speed sensor you can drive the car a bit and then switch off and on and that will reset it, but more complex faults won’t reset. Sorry it’s not a simple answer.

Well may be they will be up to 130 or so but that’s much cheaper than a new one.

I never experienced an issue with starting the car with regards to the esp.

You talk about a steering module sensor but the product you fit is a clockspring. Aren't they two very different things?

The clockspring and sensor are two individual parts mounted together - it's not difficult to separate them apart.

what version of OBD?

Just an OBD 2, which is standard for all cars after 1996 or so.

I seems you may need to change the steering angle sensor, that’s what fault code is showing.

@@nicasioperez7727 you can read the live data for the steering angle sensor with an analyser and check the numbers, technically when the steering is central it should be around 0.

You working alone. Can you tell me why you wear a face mask ?

Am wearing a mask because there is someone else that comes in and out while am working. Besides does it doesn’t bother anyone and I rather be safe 🙂
