I have a 2006 SLK 55 that recently would not go back into N or P, but drives and shifts fine. I can also crank the car in N without pressing the brake. Research suggest the brake pressure sense is faulty, but I cannot find said switch where many state it is and now find it might not have one at all, but the break pressure sensor. I connected my scanner but there are no codes. Any thoughts?

Hey Keith, I just changed all 4 rotors, pads, sensors and silver 2 front brackets for my 2007 ml350. Now 2 brake lights one on the left dash screen and other brake release light in the center keeps beeping when I drive. Any ideas what it could be?????

Hi Keith. I was hoping you have the time to answer my question/question's....1. What are the part number's for the drain/fill plugs for the front/rear differential's on a 2007 E 350 4matic? 2. What would be better, a 14mm allen wrench (with an extension/breaker) or a 14mm hex bit and a drive (looking at a video, the mechanic showed the exhaust made a tight fit with one of the bolts that have to be removed)? This mechanic had an earlier model E350 4matic wagon, I'm not sure if his vehicle pertains to my car verbatim (it's the closest reference I could find). I greatly appreciate your time and any advice you're able to give me.....Enjoy the day!

2008 Mercedes ML350 4Matic W164, I am having a weird issue, after changing the MAF, cleaning the Throttle body and CAM Plugs, the MPG reading goes down when in idle and goes up when driving. When I start the car it recovers the last MPG reading and while in idle it keeps going down, last time I stayed in idle it kept going down till it read 9.0 MPG, when driving it goes up to 21.5 MPG. Its really confusing me, gas consumption is high and DTC is RICH on Bank 1, can you help please?

Hello, My car is a "R-class W251" 2006 350v6. I have an ESP Light that comes on after about 40 to 65 miles of continuous hiway speeds (55-70mph). Using MB DAS Star Diag. The code is for ZERO POINT VARIATION. I can follow the reset SAS procedure to reset the SAS and the light goes off. I replaced the SAS behind the steering wheel but, come up with the same issue. Some say it could be the brake light switch. ESP light and ZPV fault seems to be consistent, coming on at about 40 to 65 miles or just over an hour of driving. Can make it happen each time if I use the cruise control most of the time. Note DAS says the SAS needed replacement. Did not fix the issue? Code: C1170 N49 (Steering angle sensor) : Zero point variation Thx for any suggestions you can give.

I have 2007 ML 280CDI (W164). There's an issue that when I'm going up on a hill and stop and hill assist goes active, If I continue driving before breaks are released automatically -> , breaks are released car moves few inches and then breaks go back on and car stops suddenly (very annoying) (Break pedal goes down automatically). If I continue car behaves like pressing break and gas pedal at the same time for a while. Then breaks are released again and car continues normally. If I wait that hill assist system releases breaks and only then continue driving this doesn't happen. (Breaks don't go back ON) Problem occurs quite often, almost daily. Mercedes authorized shop have updated engine, gear box and ESP control box software. No help. Have you any idea? thnx

I did't get any ESP error light but when I scanned the vehicle, I got a hard code in the B64 Brake Sensor Error. When the car is parked, the Brake Vacuum Senor is showing -1136 mBar which seems weird since the brake is not being pressed and negative number is showing. Do you think it's time to change this senor? I also noticed that the ESP module comes and goes while driving with the scanner running to look at it. I know module that are working and running should be able to show information while being used but this is a hit and miss. Any help?? Also I noticed the Longitudinal acceleration is stuck at 12.39 sec when the car is not moving.

I’d try to use a short/ stumpy pipe spanner before removing the reservoir. You can get them with a 3/8 end and just use an extension to crack it. Just a thought. Just look up 3/8 pipe spanners.

Hi Keith. Hope all is well. Thx for the content. Keith my brakes lines feel like it's air in lines. The brake lines were bleed out. I drive a 2008 ML 350. My mechanic stated the master cylinder rarely gets changed on these vehicles. I have to pump my brakes several times,, and I informed him this needs to changed. What do you think? Have you ever experienced this on your ML 350? Thank you, in advance

I wonder what else it could be... consider this: - frozen rear calipers from rusted PISTONS - caliper slide PINS not silicon lubed. Take a look at how your disks look, this will quickly tell you how well they are working.
