It is probably the best motor ever in an amg line up as I have this version in my rather rare final edition CLS63 S shooting brake

Excellent review. This is the best looking w212 e63 I’ve seen. Silver with the black/silver wheels. Perfect. I know most people like the wagon better but I’ll take the sedan.

M157 does not have cylinder deactivation. That was added with the M176/M177 engine family.

Hello. Stefan from Brisbane, Australia here. A great video! I very much enjoyed watching it. You present very well. That engine note is addictive. I own a 12/2015 build MB W212 E250 sedan - just as solidly built, but obviously not as fast. Still hits 0-100 km/h in less than 7 seconds, so not complaining 😂

One thing that I think might really improve your video quality, at least in this driving portion, is a lens hood. They do make for the gopro, which I think you are shooting with. It would help eliminate some of those lens flairs. Good stuff otherwise, keep it up! - Ronins Corner

It's a good car, but the cylinder wall scoring issue can happen from time to time. Very expensive issue to rectify.

Not much space in the backseat. But just curious, what’s your height?

I'm struggling to understand the GLA45 used... I have this, an SQ5, and the GLA on my list. Really- an E63 wagon would be ideal but that's unobtainium... I like the GLA for what it is, but they just... didn't depreciate like I hoped they would lol

@@yeahhboii6685 no, it just cuts the fuel going to the cylinder. but the oil is still there lubricating. so you got oil and everything going like normal, its just the injectors is not giving it fuel

Just remove the resonator and it’s all you need to do. Sounds evil even in C mode. S+ is very aggressive. My 2016 E63 now sounds like my C63

Yup now it’s just a top end model. Renntech, Weistech and Brabus would be considered tuners. Brabus is in a fine area on its own tho because they completely overhaul the car if that’s what the customer wants or pays for.

Now that I’m 50. I might actually get one…

E55 is better imo. I’ve had both

It's a 67 rear split. Not 70 / 30. Small thing but it's definitely 67/ 33 split

engine oil cooler tend to give lots of problems

I thing this particular car has suffered an impact at some point. I see a lot of gaps round car

Damn the gaps so bad between the bumper and the other parts lol, sucks I love this car

I like the E63, but I prefer the CLS63!

You are completely wrong , there is no Mercedes E63 made in 2006 , only 07-2011 with 6.2 motor, 2006 it's an E55 supercharged ,

Buttons are best in some cases. You know what, I can press them without really looking and know what I'e done. I get touchscreens are handy but in some instances they're just crap. There is at least one vehicle that has the entire thing on a touch screen so in the cold weather when it fails you can't demist the windscreen. What an asinine thing to do. Not a great review, for instance - unless I missed it you moan about rear room but never say how tall you are so we can get some idea. Can't hear anything on the outside? ??Not even remotely true. Whilst the small turbos do spool up very quickly it does NOT have instant low end torque.

Pass everything but a gas station...

this aint a real "s" tho, it was always called E63 back then, right?

Yup I’m pretty sure you’re right. AMG’s didn’t get an “S” edition until 15-16 and on after at least for all/most cars. But I believe they did give E classes an “S” edition since it’s such an exclusive car. Because I’ve seen a 2014 E63 S before but the “S” was with the AMG badge and not with the E63 like Mercedes are today.

BTW, this car proves DCT is overrated. This car features 100ms shifts and does it without having 2x input shafts. I used to own this car (2016) and a Mercedes Benz mechanic told me it’s a like proprietary dual clutch that uses a single input shaft. This is why it’s called Multi and not Dual.
