1.5 L in a C-Class - is it going too far? What do YOU think?

In a word, yes! Too far, I wonder how that engine will perform with 50 or 60 thousand miles on it? Couple of people with luggage and clutter, I’m not convinced.

@@pauldorset2124 you don't have to wonder. It has been done by almost every car brand with great results. The fact that it is a Mercedes engine is more worrying than the displacement.

Unfortunately like you said. They have to comply with governments rules and regulations. So it is what it is but at least they got the performance out of it with the hybrid like @Hugo Ferreira said.

Hi Anna great review, engine size is no issue with turbochargers fitted, it reminds me of the early days in F1 racing when turbochargers were used on smaller litre engines to produce huge amounts of torque, keep up the good work 👍.

Another great review Anna. This is certainly a great car, it looks well built (you didn't manage to break anything apart from the microphone. Mercedes need to make you a microphone.) and great looks. They are also pushing the power from the 1.5 engine quite high. Estate cars have always been more practical over their saloon shaped siblings arguably at the expense of style but an SUV for older creaking people like me work better for getting in and out but that is at the expense of fuel economy as in comparison an SUV is about as aerodynamic as a cathedral. As always great editing, I liked the quick edits of you steering around bends showing that this is quite a pointy handling car, well done! It'll be interesting to see what the resale value is as the cost new is pushing it. I'll not rule it out new but a benchmark cost for a used one might sway it differently and who knows what will be released before I decide to change my current car. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Anna, top job as usual. 35 mpg declared. My V8 Mustang returns 32 on the motorway! Mercedes do a nice cabin I’ll give you that! Mind you, at those prices it ought to be.

I have an old w203 c220 cdi, tuned to 166ps at 140 klicks I get 6 litres for a 100 and poodling along down to 5.4 litres, with coddling it will last 500.000kms; in Germany it will do 220kmh, however I live mainly in Spain. Your just lovely and so down to earth, thanks, keep it up babe!

I'm so glad to see your review today and see a friendly face because I needed it after bit of a mix messy day for me. This video definitely cheered me up. I know I keep on saying it but it was a brilliant review as always. I think you might need to sack that mic and employ a new mic ;-). I think I'm coming around to the idea of small engines in big cars especially with the hybrid with it. And yes I think you are right we all going to have to get used to manufactures down sizing the engine. I think that grill looks stunning but the interior absolutely gorgeous like you said very very classy and business class, premium. Those seats really comfortable and snuggly and I love that dashboard and tops off with that ambient lighting. On a totally deferent note, 14:00 mins, What a song by Queen:- Who wants to live forever. I’ve always thought the US missed a trick with the powerful wagons! Its like most people think they NEED the space, but wouldn’t ever miss it if they were to get a wagon instead! I mean you could still get a roof rack?? 😅 don’t know how the pano would feel about it though

I’m impressed with the interior and especially the dash. Not a big fan of the way we’re heading with the smaller engines or at least the slow ones. Now the person doing this review is always spot on. Great job Anna. Have you done a Tesla Plaid yet? Heard it’s like a rocket.

Thank you very much Cliff! I do love Mercedes cabins, the latest GLC looks amazing. But yes, the engines. Oh, I think for the vast majority of people it works just fine, but Mercedes's 2L engines are brilliant so it is a tad disappointing. I haven't filmed Tesla Plaid, Tesla is a little funny with their press cars, well, they don't actually have them! So I would have to enquire about one privately.

Practicality in a car is very important to me; I would appreciate it if you would spend a lot more time demonstrating the luggage space of the cars you review.

As of now there are charging 5k$ over msrp. No factory order available. Europe car production next year will be close to nothing.

Wow - I am known as a Grinch but this car seems to be so good - and finally nor a supercar nor an SUV nor an electric car. It's such a shame that these touring limousines have been basically replaced by SUVs.

For me the biggest problem of C class is the ultra rapid aging :/ also current price difference between C and E class makes no sense for most of the buyers to go for C
