No, it's Mercedes' footage. The driver in the car is clearly not Alex and there's too much of a difference in quality between the in-car shots and the driving shots. Likely, the Carfection team just didn't get enough time with the car to do both, so prioritised in-car shots and used B roll for the rest of it.

not even the largest Mercedes fan but that's gotta be the best looking car out there

Now the 2018 GT and GT S are getting the same grill and a couple of other performance bobbins from the GT R.

Even tough it looks like they didn't give you guys much time with the car, however the final product is great. Yet I believe the verdict onto the GT3 RS was left open, wasn't it? Will that be answered on the UK track? ^Fabian

Instead of comparing it to the Porsche gt3, it's much more like the f type SVR. Power and top speed are very similar. Same with 0-60 time. They are the same. I think looks have to go to the jag though

Interesting comments..."...you feel what's going on at the front wheels...". Which to me sounds like Alex is saying the steering feel is good. Unlike the AMG GT-S where Alex said there was a slight numbness. Did AMG iron out the vaguely numb driving feel from the S model? Love the AMG GT cars. One of the more useable street cars. Max torque available where you can use it at 1900 rpm..

Yehonatan L. Salomondron talks bullshit! Porsche 918 is 14secs faster on the "Ring". 918 Test and GT R tests where done with different weather-, and trackconditions. Different tyres. Also driver of 918 was much older...

I think this video doesn´t make clear, how quick the gt r really is. I would even say, it doesn´t compete with the 911gt3rs since that car is way slower. U don´t believe that? I didn´t either. But german car magazine "sport auto" tracked the gt r around the nürburgring at 7:11 min. That´s the fastest they´ve ever tested, even faster than what they managed with the 918. I´d recommend u to watch that video, as it is quite impressive.

Its fast, its great looking but theres something about it that makes it kinda dull and i just cant figure out what it is. Maybe because its the "hardcore" version yet its not really that hardcore.

Underwood95 they didn't sound as good as merc's biturbo, unless you fit an akrapovic system, but they're quick and on the track, that's all that matters. To drive on the backroad or long journeys, I'd rather have the GTR/S any day.

Kyle Steenberg yeah those are like 200k, but a 100k base 911 which is still a lot of money, the car sounds like crap! it should have an advanced exhaust with different modes!

"the AMG is more light-feeling than GT3RS"... really? Sounds like this is a better road car than track car. Clearly what an AMG is designed for. I would be okay w daily driving this car but prob not the GT3RS. I'd like to see how it goes against the Porsche TurboS
