KK makes a decent 1977 280E that I recently purchased in blue. Doors, Hood, and Trunk do not open, but it looks very real in display case.

The 6.9 was the very rare variant of the 450SEL, the biggest engine they did

I like Norev . My only problems with them is lack of infinite detailing such as PAUDI, FAW MODELS. Car is beautiful I want one.

Thanks for reviewing this model. I have never had a Norev model and my collection is all vintage American luxury cars so a Mercedes would not exactly fit (kind of like if the car was not black for you). I have always liked the big Mercedes sedans though, especially from 1986-1999. IMO the 1992-1999 version Norev has out looks a little odd, but I do like the looks of the 1991 560 SEL they have in the dark blue shade recently released. I just might have to buy one now LOL.

I just got this one about three weeks ago. I think this guy is the only one selling the black one on eBay. It's really nice in black though and I think it is better than the Revell offering years ago. I colored the wipers for the headlights with a chrome paint pin and now it looks better.

This is a very nice model

the middle mounted gas tank prevented from catch fire in crashes and the hoses sealed them when crushed, you can hang any mercedes car from the door's catch near the lock of door

Also got the black one :) And I got it from Poland too ;)

And because of this is the 6.9, it also comes with a rubber front spoiler. Something no other W116 got from factory

lool why so low notes not many models have FOUR opening doors, trunk and hood and carpet in the trunk etc. I think Norev did an awesome job here putting many more expensive brands to shame at that price point. And dull interiour, well, that was how it was in the day nothing to help about that is there lol. Your comment of the light alloy wheels is very funny for everyone who know Mercedes as they where the standard light alloy wheels and much appreciated by Mercedes Benz buyers. And no, of course you cant see a brake disc through it that was not the intention of that design. (sigh). As of the car itself, many famous persons drove one as it was superb: " The M100 in the 450 SEL 6.9 is the modified and enlarged version of the engine developed for the W100 presented in 1963. The mechanically controlled Bosch 8-piston injection pump was replaced by the simpler K-Jetronic, the wet-sump lubrication was exchanged for dry-sump lubrication and the compression ratio was reduced. By increasing the bore, the cylinder capacity increased from 6,332 cm³ to 6,834 cm³. This gives the car Mercedes' largest post-war passenger car engine. The renewed M100 in combination with the hydropneumatic suspension made the 450 SEL 6.9 a worthy successor to the 300 SEL 6.3, the air-suspended predecessor W109 in which the original engine was also released at the end of 1967. In the Mercedes philosophy, the advantages of a strong engine lay in the ability to adapt effortlessly and safely to any traffic situation without sacrificing comfort (low engine noise and gearshifts). Mercedes was not interested in reaching extreme values ​​with the cars and the official top speed of 225 km / h was therefore modestly given. Very nice model am looking for a Vauxhall cavalier mark two which I have too buy for Luton or mark three if they have Vauxhall insignia I would buy that too how many model do u have by the way

the 6.9 featured ABS brakes that werent common then and very expensive but it were a very expensive large sedan

Altough there are some little mistakes, way better than Revell made 450sel, those are listed at CMC price on ebay!

beatiful car, i think that black was made especially for poland, it's everywhere here in polish auction sites, i have citrus green mb dealer version with dark green interior, and it's better quality than yours.

I know europe does things a little different but i prefer year in front of manufacturer and model

I just bought this model in 2023 January and the star emblem on top of the grill has come separately, do you know if this attaches or it needs to be glued in? Thank you.

If you dont move the model, you dont need to use glue. It is also better if you later resell

6.9 is a separate model. It has the 6.9 m100 engine from the 600 series. same body as 450 SEL
