Mera Piya Ghar Aaya (2020) Bulleh Shah | Riyaaz Qawwali | Punjabi Sindhi music | Meditation Sufi
Музыка
riyaazqawwali.com/ Bulleh Shah composed this poem upon the return of his spiritual teacher, Inayat Shah. This famous Punjabi composition is also found in a bollywood movie, although with a different interpretation Riyaaz Qawwali presents 'Mera Piya Ghar Aaya' with some new poetry and different girah bandis (repetitive melodic emphasis), while keeping true to the poem's original meaning.
Gharyaal Deyo Nikalni [Turn away the watchman!]
Mera Piya Ghar Aaya [My beloved has come home!]
This day has arrived, this auspicious day, When my beloved is at my doorstep.
God has made this union possible, O what a beautiful miracle!
It's a magical moment, Complete grace is upon me,
My beloved has come home!
I shall distribute sweets, Make my beloved happy,
My beloved is a my doorstep, My beloved has come home!
Again and again the timekeeper strikes the gong, And cuts he short the night of union.
If he were to find my heart's desire, He would throw away the gong, O friends!
The un-struck melody resounds sweetly. The Musician is accomplished, the tune enchanting,
Prayers and fasting are all forgotten, When the Distiller offers the cup, O friends!
Bulleh Shah’s nuptial bed of the Spouse is dear. O friends, the Savior has redeemed me!
With what an anguish my turn has come! Now it is hard ever to leave Him.

Hopefully soon!
You guys are doing a good job by eliminating the high-pitch screeching voices that are part of many of the famous qawwali groups that we know of like NFAK, Qari Saeed Chishti, Sabri bros, Berewala, etc. I always thought they are unnecessary and take away from the immersion. Young Rahat with his high pitch screech seemed to ruin Nusrat's sargams. I know saying this is a sacrilege in qawwali circles, maybe one day I will appreciate the importance of that high pitch voice, but otherwise I can't bring myself to like it, maybe at best ignore it. You guys are getting better with your improvisation and sargams, it will get better. See if you can incorporate a sarangi instead of the violin. Also good job on keeping the harmonium volume low. Ideally I would like to see the harmonium phased out of desi music, it is invasive presence. Also the other guys in the group besides the main singer could use more practice in their "a-a-a" in terms of trying to differentiate the notes. The main singer does it pretty well, it will be well complemented if the other guys could keep up.
