right mer-man looks badass

All of us from the generation that had these know as adults that the characters and media were essentially really long toy advertisements. Still, the stories evolved to be far more interesting that the advertising execs and toy makers would ever dream of. Mer-Man was MoTU's evil Aquaman and we are all fine with that.

I remember I had an action figure growing up. I had quite a few of the He-Man action figures. I remember having to tell my mom that they were action figures not dolls.

Yes, in the 80s Dolls were 12 inches tall.

Great video. I grew up with He-Man and the MOTU series and I love it just as much as I did as a kid to this day. Such an amazing show and excellent action figures. I really hope that we get a new series soon. Maybe a live action one. Keep the MOTU videos coming.

Mer-Man and Trap-Jaw were my two favorite MOTU figures. Before getting the action figure, I was fascinated by the pictures of the ocean warlord with his shark-toothed sword. When I finally got it, I was a little disappointed to discover that the sword was nowhere near as detailed as the pictures suggested.

If we look at He Man 1983 original series the amphibious villain Merman looks like a mix of Gremlins and Ultraman monster Ragon.

I've been a fan for a long time and I swear I heard somewhere that Skeletor gave Mer man either his yellow staff or the spiky sword and it's through that how he controls the water creatures....and Skeletor gave beastman his whip which magically controls beasts...

Love how the 02 version is based on waspinator, being the unfortunate butt monkey and even having the same va do the same voice. He also is essentially a diet beast man in that he cannot even control his sea creatures

I appreciate the effort put into this, but it contains a lot of factual errors and visuals that don't match the audio. The first images aren't from the original four mini-comics, they're from the DC Comics mini-series. Also, Mer-Man's debut in Filmation is not Teela's Quest. He debuted in the very first episode, The Diamond Ray of Disappearance.

Of course, every reboot from my childhood has to be extreme and edgy. They suck.

Also think there was a missed opportunity here....could've made the figure smell like the stinkor figure but fishy.....😂😂😂😂

You should remember to give credit for using someone else's video. I recognize the action figure footage as Pixel Dan's figure reviews.

merman is a very fishy foe.

Those are greaves, not anklets.

Definitely didn't research this properly. Mer Man first appeared in the episode Diamond Ray of Disappearance. NOT Teela's Quest. He also played a major role in the Season Two episode Jacob and the Widget's.

you talk about the mini comics that came with the figures in the beginning of this video yet you show the 3 issue limited series that was produced by DC in the 80s
