Y'know, it'd honestly be cool if they brought back Mephiles and he somehow stumbled into Infinite, which they come to an agreement to be a "team" (Mephiles would obviously be using him for his own benefit). Then you could not only bring back one of the best villains known in the Sonic franchise and make one of the most considerably bad villains which had great potential as a villain be good

Pretty sure Mephiles would be targeting Shadow and not Sonic. He only went for Sonic before because he was the key to awakening Iblis. Remove Elise from Sonic and...Mephiles is never gonna bother with him.

It's admittedly got a pretty nice scenario though. Infinite attacking Mephiles due to confusing him with Shadow is something I could realistically see happening (especially with Infinite's resentment toward the hedgehog). Mephiles using his immortality and teleportation to dodge Infinite's attack, leading the jackal to arrogantly lower his guard, only to be snuck up on from behind. And the Phantom Ruby breaking, leading to Mephiles escaping his broken timeline, felt like a natural conclusion.

The "sun" he summoned, CAN'T have the destructive power or properties of a star level attack. Otherwise, the entire planet would've been obliterated, him included. More importantly, Mephiles is immortal, and has the mind of a literal deity. The inconsistent, poorly defined powers of the Phantom Ruby, aren't going to do shit. The only way he's beating Mephiles is by sending him to Null Space, but even then, what's stoping Mephiles from using his time manipulation (which Shadow compares to Chaos Control, an ability that warp you out of other dimensions) to escape? Or use a clone as decoy? Or simply teleport out of the way, and sneak up begins him?

LMAO understatement. SEGA already put into promotional material he is the most powerful foe so far, which HAS to include Solaris. This means Infinite > Solaris Solaris was going to *destroy the multiverse* by existing a little too hard Infinite got fucked by plot and nobody can tell me otherwise

If that true then it would’ve taken *SUPER* Sonic to take down Infinite and not BASE Sonic as well as the Avatar (don’t try and use the whole “Sonic gets stronger every time he fights” line to put him above that encounter either, as Sonic has still yet to show any Low Multiversal feats in Base form). Don’t rely on statements when the games themselves contradict them.

SEGA statement in a promotional material is the MOST reliable narrator, which means that whatever is happening scales to Infinite. As literal SEGA said, Infinite surpasses all previous enemies. This HAS to include Solaris. Sonic simply DOES get stronger over time, and you just need to accept it. However ridiculous it may seem, or how bullshit it is, that’s the truth. Forces ruined a lot of things in Sonic’s game universe(mainly characterization), but because of promotional material lining up with a statement from Sonic Mania, alongside a statement from Sonic himself that he gets more powerful, it is VERY safe to say he is now like that in base. It all lines up with SEGA’s statements, stop downplaying Infinite and Sonic. Extra edit:Damaging Infinite due to his power relevance to Solaris is at the very least an 06 Super Sonic attack.

@@pseudonym1128 Yet they also stated in that same game that Infinite was created by Eggman, only to change their mind and make him be a leader of a squad and hate Shadow....yet not bother WITH Shadow. If Sonic was multiversal in base, he wouldn't need Super against the Time Eater or Dark Gaia, Classic Sonic would've gone super during the final boss as well. Statements don't work when the games themselves contradict this (and this is also the same game that lied about being worked on by the same people who did colors and forces, when one did Lost World and the other 2 had 0 experience in Sonic Games). You're trying to wank Base Sonic up too much without proof other than (This statement) which is disproven by the game its for. Statements are only reliable if the game itself proves it (Like Sonic being faster than light. Sure it was stated, but people only think that due to the light speed dash shoes, only for the light speed dash to be slower than his running speed in future games and Omega confirming in Colors DS that he's faster than light). However, from what we've seen of Infinite, the best he can be is Large Star Level due to summoning the Sun, yet being beat by Base Sonic and A ROOKIE

You keep trying to discredit a “statement” which is a blatant comment on Infinite’s power from SEGA. Plus, you just tried arguing Forces writing against this. Yeah, it’s bad, that’s why this piece of information exists now. How long did Infinite take to summon the sun? Not even a moment, and it didn’t strain him in the slightest to keep it there. And your comments about him being beaten by a rookie are one of two things. Sonic is overpowered, or the rookie is overpowered. That’s just how it is. SEGA’s word is law here, and you clearly can’t accept that.
