Thanks for sharing. This was very helpful. UPDATE: Tried a TON of different products and Reformer is a superior product. I have semi-long hair and it works way better than Pacinos for longer hair. Originally, when my hair was shorter, Pacinos worked really well but as it got longer...Reformer. No doubt. Reformer.

I've been using D:fi extreme hold styling cream. I have short thick hair and I like to style it sort of side ways/comb over spike. Do you recommend one of these products more or do you think D:fi is good enough?

I got reformer works good. Question for you to remove reformer do I need to shampoo my hair or just washing hair with water will remove it? Also, my hair is lil curly can I use it on wet hair?

Had to call my barber and ask what he put in my hair. Reformer took over claymation for my hair

I've been using the Matterial for thick hair that I have long on top and short on the sides where I comb it backwards and to the right. Am I making a mistake because my hair is already thick? What what you choose? My cosmetologist usually uses a foam and that seems to work pretty well (and seems easy to apply). I do run into issues where if I'm working my hair will move a bit, but that happens with every product I've tried. (I can't stress enough how thick my hair is and how coarse it is as well. lol) What has solved the problem with the clay mostly is just constantly keeping my hair damp because when it completely dries it seems the clay doesn't work as well as when it's slightly damp (not full-blown wet). Or maybe I'm using the product wrong. To address something you said, the Matterial is very easy to get out, but even if for some reason someone didn't get it out, because it doesn't add gloss to your hair it's not going to make your hair look greasy. The worst that will happen is your head gets a little itchy. But no, one wash gets it out super easy. Also, it is surprising how little is needed as you mentioned. A container lasts a long time.

Tori Clarke yes and no. I own the entire line except the shampoo and gel. The Matterial and Barbers classic smell pretty good, however clean cut and reformer are a completely different story. Clean cut smells kinda like moth balls and old library books while reformer smells like incest repellent. Now it’s possible they didn’t put any fragrance in the containers purchased, but still a bit of a concern. How they still work very well, but something to note

The girl who cuts my hair at sports clips in conway, ar, recommended the material for me. When she used it on me, it was great, but now that I try it it is extremely hard to spread in my hair. Any tips?

Born 4 Outdoors I would wet my hand a bit and then grab some product, you might have a chance of diluting the product but I find it easier to use it that way OR you can grab little at a time and apply to your hair in sections for full effect of product. It’s supposed to be a super matte finish with a really high hold but I find it’s not really easy to apply.

What do you think of American Crew products as compared to Mitch? Is one any better than the other. More specifically Reformer vs American Crew Fiber. I’m a long time American crew user but am considering switching to Mitch. I have short thick hair by the way

Adam Satterfield Fiber is recommended for people with thin/fine hair to add texture and give appearance of fuller, thicker hair. It has a great hold but I would recommend Reformer for your hair since you already have thick hair. For an even better hold, Matterial. Just remember Matterial is a clay and a bit harder to work with but not any more difficult than the fiber.

Natalie Elice that helps a lot! I have been using reformer the last few days and I really love it. I may pick up a can of Matterial as well. My old hair stylist that I went to before I moved used Beyond The Zone Deranged in my hair but it did nothing for me as far as hold goes

My hair is extremely oily. I always have to wash my hair every day & if I work out I then again have to wash my hair. My hair is thick also. Can you send me a listing of what shampoo I should use.

Daniel Storm tea tree special shampoo from Paul Mitchell is amazing for your situation. Use it once a day to break down the sweat and oil build up. And use the double hitter from Mitch the rest of the time so you don’t dry your scalp out.

I just got the matterial and it's really good. Hold wise, people tend to say the matterial has a higher hold than the reformer.. What do you think?
