I used to work at a cosmetic counter and bald men would come in all the time complaining about this. There are mattifying lotions and primers out there. They are mostly intended for the face but you could easily use them on your head. The only downside is that you will go through them a lot faster so the cost may add up. Also, they could irritate your scalp if you have sensitive skin, but it’s worth a shot.

This was very informational, and being a person with short hair, it's made me value styling a lot more
Cream ftw!! My hair is fine. Thus pomade, gel is not meant for it. As for cream, its the best. It naturally hold the hair.
I think gel is something all guys have no idea how to use properly... If you have gel on ur hair and it is hard and rigid, you are using it wrongly. There is an extra step u need to do, that is to ruff up ur hair after it has dried and set. You will realize ur hair becomes soft and malleable again but the shape is still there, it should feel the same as if u applied soft clay or wax.
@KCDeportes
5 жыл бұрын
What is ruff up? If I may ask. I've bern told I can't use greasy products no more and I don't want gel due to it's results...but this sounds encouraging
@Gunbardo
5 жыл бұрын
@@KCDeportes basically break up the rigid clumps of hair which is being held up strong by the gel. It will take multiple attempts to get it right, the first time I did it just became messy. But after a while I realized that gel can be used to achieve the same results as other clay/wax products, the soft and malleable kind.
I have beautiful blonde hair. If I put anything in it it looks thinner and oily. Blonde hair never looks good oily IMO. I tried your cream method, I had actually threw the can of cream in the trash can. I watched your video because you applied the cream when your hair was dry. I dug it out of the trash can and applied to to my hair when it was dry as you did and my hair looks amazing. it holds its place and it’s loose at the same time. Giving me more volume and control. thank you! ❤❤❤❤
Which one would you recommend for every thing like for comfort, exercising, and for every hair type?
I think I will go for the cream. Thanks for the advice!

Well technically the texture and the amount of hair is different. So you can have a full head of fine hair or be holding onto a few strands of really thick hair. If that makes sense.
What product would be best for thick and dense hair?
Great video, there are so many hair products for sale, these 'back to basics' like videos really help to show what the differences are. 🍚🍙💷 I use water-based ; pomades, clays, creams, then I use either my fine or wide tooth comb to do a side part, then I use hairspray, because I'm someone who doesn't like to keep touching or looking at how my hair is throughout the day, so I use it to make sure it is in the same position as how I left it in. 🚿

Which water based pomade do you recommend?
Very informative and I love the editing of the video and the different titles and texts you have used! Great quality videos
Great video Robin. Pomades are my go to, but nowadays there's so much versatility within the pomade world that the lines have been blurred. We have traditional oil based (Murrays, Lockharts), traditional water based (Suavecito), unorthodox water based (flagship, grim grease, nostalgic grooming s/wb), but it's a huge reason why I love it. I got my hair cut recently and I'm rocking a shorter more textured look and have been using waxes and clays or a cream pomade like Gray Ghost by Shear Revival. Excellent stuff.

I do the same styling. This is what I do. Tonic + foam + oil Cream Paste Powder These 4 options leaves a feeling with no product and I rank them for you.
Thank you, really descriptive and informative video on different hair styling products. The visual examples are just awesome.
Last on my list of things to try is cream. I'm hoping this is the one. I'm super dumb with hair, it's really not my forte. I have similar hair to Robin. Gel was a no-go as it left my hair solid and too "wet" looking. Clay seemed to be too dry on my hair, and it is a bit hard to get out(at least the one I tried). Pomade was very much like gel, and like Robin said, it isn't good for every day. It seemed to make my hair look oily but dry when washed out. Praying for cream to be the miracle I need! Really appreciate your videos, they are huge for clueless folks like me!
I love pomades! After I got my first Brylcreem, that’s the thing I’ve been using most of my time
I always style my hair like you did on your clay style, but for some reason after a few minutes my hair always goes flat and i'm back to styling it again like every minute. how would i prevent that?

Ah, thanks very much. I had fun with this video. Always good to mix things up!
Would clay be best for curly hair?
Finally, came across a video for a hair product noob like me that's looking for something that'll suit my thick hair and not emphasise volume - looks like gel or pomade might be the way to go?
I'm really thinking about getting a clay and trying it out. Seems perfect for my hair and hairstyle. Sorta leaning towards nostalgic grooming clay, but eh, who knows.
Awesome video Robin but when you try Kevin Murphy you never look back ;)
Love the tips, I will be using the information on an upcoming video! I'll be sure to link your channel!
Thank you ! This really cleared it up for me as my old pomade wasn't doing the trick anymore.
