G’Day Rebel. If you’re not fussed on painting it then you cn build this in one evening(maybe two). The fit of parts is such that you dont need any glue. However, there are seam lines and mold likes that need attention if you want to do a nice looking model. The weight of the wings won’t break the swivel connectors and there isnt much up and down swivel. If you paint the cockpit black with some dry brushing you barely see the second row of seats. Pay very close attention to the wings and their connectors- once the connectors are clicked in place you will not get them off. The landing gear can be up or down - if up you have to use the display stand. And as for colours I believe the instructions are wrong with AK number. Its not a pale desert sand. Personally I went with a neutral grey/dark green mix for a colour thats almost the same colour as the plastic. Otherwise its a total blast. You will need a shit load of shelf space to display this beast with wings spread. Cheers 👍
Very cool looking kit. Watching videos of the recent Wonderfest I saw a number of people who have built this and the builds look very nice (and very big!). Looking forward to seeing your build. Happy Canada day.

Happy Canada Day Dario :) I was kind of surprised when they said it was only going to be 1:72nd scale, I was hoping for 1:48, but now seeing the kit in person, 72nd is big enough.
Cool model 👍
Neat video. What paints will you use? I have the mini kits and they do not come with paint guides. As you know, with me being colorblind, figuring out matching paints is difficult.

I'm mostly going to be using AK Interactive RC229
I would love to see the tools for the cockpit frame that molding is insane

I agree, one of the things I forgot to mention about that piece is that I couldn't see a seam line on it anywhere, which just makes me more curious to know how they did this.

@@rebelsatcloudnine im half tempted to pick up this kit just because I want to look at that part. I didnt even like dune film, id probably build it in some other fantasy scheme or bash it into something else entirely, but that part is just so interesting

@@TheWaggishAmerican I wasn't too thrilled with the movie either, but I'm really glad to have the chance to build this kit, I'm even more now considering getting the Harkonan Ornithoper so that I have one for myself. It's such a strange thing, but yeah, that frame is just so amazing when you hold it in person, it just doesn't compare to seeing it on the screen. I was thinking that as well, possibly some like a digital camo would look really cool all over those wings. Or as my Dad suggested to paint it up like it was an actual dragon fly, there are a lot of fun possibilites with this kit :)

@@rebelsatcloudnine reminds me of a colorful bird scheme I saw in an old magazine (fsm?) issue. Realistic dragonfly would be a really cool challenge and unique result
I got the tiny one temted to get this

If you do, I don't think you'd regret it :)
The models are cool pity the movie sucks so badly 😂😂

I recently re-rented the movie and I liked it better the second time around. I have yet to see Part 2 though.

@@stevethefishdotnetthe reality is that you can't remake a classic like the original Dune movie.... It would have been significantly better if they had of started a new Dune series starting after the original movie.... I have the full collection of Dune novels and a new series of Dune movies is more than feasible

@@nigelsmith7366 I dunno... I am a fan of the original '84 Lynch movie, but it does feel a bit forced. Too many people whispering to themselves, a bit campy, a bit weird, etc. I have not read the novel by Frank Herbert, so I cannot say if the new movie is closer to the book or not. Either way, don't think of it as a remake of the Lynch movie, but an interpretation of the book. My biggest complaint was turning Dr. Kynes into a woman. That just felt a bit forced.

If you haven't read the book the movie is fine and the vehicles are cool. I didn't love the film personally. Looks like a neat kit though.

I was pretty unimpressed with the new movie and sad that it lacked the spectacle of the 84 film. I haven't seen part 2 yet, but as The Waggish American said, I did really like the vehicles in the film. And I really can't stand how Timothe Chalome has to whisper everything in every movie he's in.
