It honestly is not that hard, or one can say that's a prequisite to be decent violinist? Probably not perfect and might blank out on some of the less interesting portion, but you practice so much (39 hours a day), it just became muscle memory. Hell, I still remember fingering of some of the violin pieces, and I haven't touch an instrument 3-4 years.

Never played a instrument in my life but just understanding how hard and how much work goes into being able to play the violin at this level leaves me in amazement. Genes play a role. But I think an even bigger role is early exposure to music. After reading the biographies of many composers and violinists, I have noticed that so many of them had at least one musical parent. Given that neo-natology has shown that unborn babies can hear sounds, I am wondering whether this can translate into some neurological advantages for a pre-born child exposed to musical sounds, which become apparent post-birth.

@@Musicienne-DAB1995 you’re 100% right. Most great musicians I met had parents that were musicians. They were into music and bands out of their own generation. It usually is hard for a person with no history of interest in music in their older generations to get into, and stay, in music.
