Beyond the fact this is a stunning performance is the exceptional production quality. This video really sets a VERY high standard for what can be captured on a stage. This is beautiful on so many levels. Thanks to those who share this gorgeous piece with all of us. We can't all be in Utrecht but we can celebrate the occasion through this video. What a gift!

Happy execution! In particular, I find the pianist's touch very soft, because he plays with his fingers attached to the keyboard😃👍

Somehow I end up enjoying every video I see with this violinist, Boris Brovtsyn. (And don't worry, I think the other guys are fine, too.)

Great performance of a criminally underrated work. I actually prefer it to the d minor trio.

At 8:14 the pianist messed up in the left hand. The music is written with G octave in the left hand. He somehow managed to play C and A which messed up the flow of the piece. He also rushed some sections and wasn't quite together with the strings. The tempo could have went just slightly faster. But overall a decent performance of this.

The victory of the superego over the id represents the suppression of bodily desires. Thus, this approach favors fasting and celibacy, the ascetic approach. The victory of the ego represents a Machiavellian egotism, an elimination of concern for harm to others, or life after death. This is achieved by cutthroats and sociopaths. The victory of the id in itself represents a pure to the animal state, without regard for oneself. This is difficult to maintain without lobotomy, but can more easily be achieved by children, and during flow states of music or sport, where the superego is quieter. The superego acts in the mode of goodness, identifying with the whole of society, understanding the body as separate from the soul- and therefore the needs of the body (Id) are inferior to the soul. The id acts in the mode of ignorance. It is totally without any sense of conscious knowledge - it merely acts upon instinct. However, instincts can be perverted through subliminal means. Tribalism can be attached to a sports team, and sexuality can be distance from mating. The ego is in the mode of passion. It is concerned with satisfying the Id, but through effective mechanisms. It seeks knowledge of how to satisfy the self. The problem of ego is that, as social creatures, we come to have affection, attraction, and even love for others. The superego informs us that the body is temporary, and we begin to wonder what might be more lasting or meaningful than egoic hedonism. The ego is powerful in the moment, but in dark and quiet hours, the superego begins to wonder if reality isn’t just pornography… it wonders if there is something beyond mere hedonism.
