You do realize the only consistent affordable way to film these guys in most of the events is to have someone follow them with a camera. Just keeping the athlete in frame is insanely difficult. These sports don't have the money to use automated cameras. Anything automated would have to be built in the snow, or dirt depending on snow level, on the side of a mountain and would have to be easily moved and rearranged to use for other events. On top of all that it would have to be able to be moved and set up on any mountain that they are competing at. Other sports have billion dollar stadiums where it is easy to incorporate new fancy tech. It's a little harder for these type of sports. They actually did a really good job with the cameras. There's even a few instances where the commentators point out the quality the shot.

They should remove/seriously reduce the difficulty scoring and just score on steeze, because Sebbe's single frontflip is unreal. As a viewer I don't particularly care about 12s and 14. I love the extremes of quad 18s or Method 5s.

As someone who throws frontflips off jump kickers, it's hard to imagine doing it on such a massive jump without over rotating. Haven't really seen anyone else do them besides Ulrik Badertscher. Not nearly as tech as what Darcy and Sven are throwing, but doing such a small trick on an enormous feature requires insane nuance and precision, all in the service of style. It's basically the snowboard equivalent of threading a needle with an excavator.

yes but no, the last 2 years Markus Kleveland has spun 4 times in the finals but got silver both times, Max Parrot winning the gold both times, not spinning 4 but 3, it must be hard to think ahead for what the judges may be looking for, spins or style? I do think seeing both ways is good, showing their talent & both have very different styles. Markus is just next level. Max being so tall & not hand dragging is unbelievable, not like others that do hand drag & seem to at times score higher? it does'nt make sense. But in my opinion we need to come back to style. I mean is'nt it what it really is mostly about. style. just watch Stale Sandbech, he oozes style.

Totally agree. I mean if the jump is stylish and clean, the judges should give more points

Could somebody please explain something to me: 1) why did the dude in yellow do very little except that last triple 2) why did 2nd place not give it his all on his last jump to try and win, why would he settle for second?

Have to keep the texting on since I can't have any volume while the kids are sleeping, and I can't handle the subtitle for 'Rinnekangas'! They are absolute gold! 😄 As a Finn, I know his name can be hard to pronounce for somebody who doesn't speak finnish. But the subtitles suggest names as 'Rent a congas', 'Rent a carcas', 'Rena king kong'..! Hilarious! 😄

Am I the only one totally over the whole triple / quad 1200+ degree rotation stuff ?? Sebe was the clear winner in my book, super stylish and huge. Most of the techy stuff just looks like a spinning tumbling mess anymore.
