Tristan's last run did not rank close to anything that Tom did imo. I would've given 1st to Liam, 2nd to Gavin and 3rd to Tom. (I liked Tom's runs better than Gavin's as well, but Gavin's run was strong enough that I can understand why the judges put him over Tom)

Other than the commentary by Gary Rogers, I love this stuff. Someone needs to remind that guy that he's not there to make fun of these athletes. No doubt he's some important personality in this sport or production, but if he were cut this would instantly improve quite a bit.

i just dont understand how they can do stuff this big without pads, one mistake and you could be hospitalized for months (i know i would if i fell from that kinda height). but to get that good you have to fall, you literally learn by making mistakes, thats how learning works. so how did they ever get that good without ending up in a wheel chair? unless they practice with pads and then dont wear pads in competition to look cool or something? i love skating, and i respect everbodys freedom to do things as they want. its their life, its their choice, if they dont want to wear pads its their right not to, at least day to day in skateparks anyway. but in comps im somewhat surprised its not a requirement for bowl/ park and vert. i just dont get the need to always 'look cool' above being safe. i for one would rather be safe and skate into my 50's than have one mistake in my 20's that means i spend the rest of my life unable to skate. eh. i guess its not always about looking cool, pads (if you are not used to them) can feel intrusive and interfere with your skating. but the solution to that is just to get used to it. eh, sorry for the ramble.

24:19 im glad this guy was wearing pads and a helmet. that head hit could have been bad enough to send him down the same path as scotty cranmer... super lucky the guy that hit his head happened to be one of the few skaters actually wearing a helmet.

It's more a confidence thing. Wearing a helmet for alot of people throws off the balance and makes people less confident on the board. That's what Neen Williams thinks anyways. And I kind of Agree with it. And it's not like vert with huge huge airs, alot of the dudes do go high above coping in this part of the contest.

Makes a bit more sense with the Jam format but not really. Street league spits out scores fast with no problem.

@@bretthunter7320Street league isn't a jam format where there is a half hour time limit. It takes them 10-15 seconds after each run to score.

@@bryang7809 I see what you are saying but this format is not adding up. It does not make sense to not show the scores. The change in the leader board if there was one was taking 10-20 seconds seconds anyway because of the skater exiting the course, because of the replays and because of them figuring out the score.
