It's still Müller for me., crazy shot. Poor Marwan though, it's like he's on the receiving end in every other shot in this video!
Absolute bangers this year. Has to be Muller though, wont be seeing that shot on a psa court for a long time to come. Great squish.
Has to be Crouin's back-to-back rollers, purely for the pressure of the situation. Final match of the tournament, 9-9 in the fifth, just absolutely GOES for it. Legend

does he get the w?

I looked it up and yes he did. I assume he lost in the following round though. But apparently an up-and-comer worth watching.

That was the tournament final
Gotta love the "that's ridiculous" while laughing from Vanessa Atkinson.😄
Crouin's double-pancake and the corkscrew lobs are mint.

Pretty awesome from Crouin on that scoreline, have to say!
Nicolas Müller👌
Makin's corkscrew.... played to perfection its unreturnable and he did it.
No contest: Müller #7 @4:50

Yep!
#11 Elias's cross-court nick... Yes, I know we've seen it many times, but that's still an incredible shot!
#7 Nici Müller! Outrageous!
Best year yet
Feel bad for Marwan he got psyched out by two crazy shots this year!
The „Muller-Shot“
Shorbagy on the receiving end of many of these. Guess you need to do such things to beat him! Love Salazar's and Muller's, corkscrews are class.
Shot 1 my favorite
The Muller shot was pure instinct and so good. Loved the corkscrew shots too, but Hesham’s forehand drop, for me, was technically the most difficult and would get my vote.
All amazing shots, but # 7 is unbelievable, cat’s reflexes
Corkscrew lobs are insane!
Great choices and Iove the corkscrews but that shot from Nicky Muller... never ever seen anything like that! Has to be #1!
One thing is for sure, Joey B is the most entertaining commentator in the sport.
9:00 "The French crowd have got their baguettes out" lmao
I’ll just vote for Marwan in the “Best Shot of the Year Receiver”, the rest just didnt impress me as much
So many excellent shots to choose from, but most of them are 'just' great executions of normal squash shots, with some situations more difficult than others. Mueller's shot, however, is really something we'll never see again, so gets my vote for Shot of the Year.
It's not even close this year! Muller #7.
Muellers shot was the most impressive, but Makins corkscrew lob won him the rally, and against I-can-reach-any-shot-Asal
"The French crowd has got their baguetts out they're waloping each other on the head with them" what 😂 9:01
No contest: Müller #7 @4:50. That was freak.
9:02 - "The French crowd have got their baguetts out. They're walloping each other on the head with them" 😂
1, 3, 6, 7 are all amazing
#7 Muller. Although it's tougher to choose with each year as shots get crazier.
Without a doubt, Crouin SMASHING it back-to-back.
Muller all day long, all month long, all year long
Got to be Muller for me, not sure you'll see that again for a while, unbelievable shot!
Shot 7 Müller with no doubt for me Or shot nr 9… On 3 Elias
Wow this year was an absolute cracker!! so many shots...
If it's not Nici this year there will be riots! 😅 4:54
idk about best shot but most inventive/impressive is definitely muller
Nobody talking about the baguette commentary? 😂😂
I've only played squash a handful of times, but I play badminton very competitively. Dessouky's footwork and form looks reeeeeally clean to me. Can any squash addicts tell me whether I am correct, and is he perhaps known for having clean movement?

Used to be a gymnast, apparently. If you want to see good technique then he is pretty faultless I reckon.
@meatloafmen

@@jimmorrison4291 yea, that would check out. A lot of the others are obviously really good, but they often look pretty stiff, whereas dessoukys split step, swing, and general footwork looked far cleaner than the rest.

Like, if he were a Badminton player I would judge him a having by far the best footwork of anyone in this video.

Best commentators…so witty across time. Squash owes them an incredible debt of gratitude.
Love you psa stuff
Has to be #7. I don’t think you’ll see that again…ever!
THE FRENCH CROWD
Shot 9 💯
I love the Irish girl speaking
number 7 from Muller. Nunca vi um golpe deste antes no squash.
Wasn’t there one where Mo Shorbagy hit a reaction between the legs (where his opponent from up front hit it right back at him) into the nick?
Does Marwan get a prize for setting up the most shots of the year?
Makin's corkscrew lob, hit perfectly and at the right moment, beautiful. You can't teach that, it's a gift.
@remcovandijk279
Жыл бұрын
"You can;t teach that, it's a gift" I would disagree with that, as last weekend myself and one of my squash buddies did the same shot during our games, with the same result (glued to the back wall). And we're not gifted or high-level players at all :)
@gordoncampbell4706

@@remcovandijk279 well dijk, perhaps the gods of squash were being generous and allowed merely mortal leisure club level players to feel the majic. I would guess the pressure dynamic execution of the shot playing your buddy versus top ten in the world is apples and oranges. Skål
Mueller and Hesham like computer game players
real nice shot. the shots off the camera postition are to fancy, moving camera;'s look nice but the cameras miss en a lot of bals and racket skils in the deep corners. it looks better, but is not better.
Not talking about rallies or special points, just shoots, has to be #7 Muller. Great selection. Not sure about the Makin volley drop kill though.
5:16
I feel like the quality of some of these shots needs to be measured against the rest of the match. It they go for a shot 10 times and only nail one of them then that's not as good as repeatedly nailing the shot. Crouin's double at the end is a good example that suggests that the balance of luck and skill was leaning towards skill in that match... and of course shots like the blind behind the head or spinning reflex shots are one offs that are just great to watch and need no context.
omg
Mueller for sure. We don’t even have a name for that shot yet. The others just come under corkscrew, cross court nicks, 3 wall boast nick etc. we should just call his the Mueller as he owns that one rightly.
7
Two shots in a row... Of course Frenchman Victor Crouin..!
Mueller 🙂
Wondering why Asal's made the list ... pure unnecessary showboat shot that gave no tactical advantage to if he just did the same shot without lifting his leg ... the rest were amazing Muller's was the #1 for me too 😁
Am I the only one that thinks that the quality of the shots of the year has declined by the years? :/ Maybe it's just the nostalgia for the golden era getting the better of me
