Men's Pole Vault Final | World Athletics Championships Doha 2019

Спорт

Welcome to the World Athletics Watch Party, join the conversation on Twitter with our hashtag #WatchWorldAthletics.
In Doha, Sam Kendricks became just the second man to successfully defend a world title in the event after a captivating battle with teenaged sensation Armand Duplantis.
The pair cleared 5.97m before topping out at 6.02m after a riveting jump-for-jump battle, with Kendricks winning the second US title of the night.
“I am elated, stunned and excited, all at the same time. It’s almost hard to take it in. To have three men over six metres all going for it -the Titans of the event this year- made it such a memorable night. We weren’t duelling as enemies but as rivals and friends.”

Only three three and a half months later the same thing about being the nicest, added with he did not seem to have one drop of arrogance in his body was said about Armand Duplantis ,when he was talking to Swedish media ,after landing, standing on the airport .He had ca two days ago broken a World Record which had stood for six years,at the age of twenty. In a weeks time he set a new World Record,it becoming 6.18.This happened indoors,a half a year later he jumped 6.15 outdoors, there by becoming also the man who had jumped highest ever outdoors.I can continue with a long list what he has done since then,he is looked up on for this, but he is still loved every were he goes ,because he is such a nice person. He is 23 YEARS old.Sam Kendricks is also a nice person and has accomplished alot ,but he is seven years older, and taking that into it Mondo gets my biggest point. These answers from most are 2019/2020 i know that, but Mondo had accomplished quit abit before, already fex. at seventeen becoming the yougest ever to qualify to men pole vault at World Athletics Championships. He also won the European Athletic Championship ,pole vault, shocking a whole Sport World, taking 6.05 at the age of 18.

That's funny because I was just thinking how quite a few of these men look like models lol Edit: Also I think because it's mostly men who watch athletics videos like this and the majority of men are straight, you'll see more comments on the women's videos about beauty.

  • @313eve

    4 жыл бұрын

@@annika9348 I see what you mean but seeing someone beautiful doing their job doesn't mean you should comment on that and not on the incredible athleticism they're displaying. It's like at work, just because a man is attracted to a woman, doesn't mean they should be saying things like that (vice versa of course). These athletes have been training their whole lives, they aren't thinking about their looks, they're focused on form and personal bests, training ten hours a day, fuelling their body healthily and performing on a world stage. I think they'd be upset if, after all that work, someone just says it is actually a modeling competition, or that their body is hot. I think just because men are straight doesn't mean they aren't able to restrain themselves. I think that sells them a bit short, I know many men that follow women's sport and have glowing things to say about their athletic ability and support them in the same way they do the male athletes they follow in sport.

It's for the hands to not slip. The force they must do can easly reduce their grip. The black stuff is sticky, and the white powder is to dry out the sweat of the hands

They should add some reality to this event. I mean where would one most likely need to use this skill? I suggest they vault a brick wall with ever increasing depths of razor wire strung across the top. That would certainly add some excitement and danger and would most likely increase the athlete's desire to clear the obstacle, resulting in new personal and world records. So this amelioration would be sure to increase everyone's enjoyment.

You’re probably right, think of Swedish taxes and the more in a an American expression here i come,I am the best which is needed in the USA to get forward. In Sweden it is almost the opposite with the old system of the Dante/jante lagen ,it has become better , but it still means don’t come here and think you’re some thing special. You have to make yourself up through sosiety anyway.Armand Duplantis has been able by good parents and being the person he is to take the best of both worlds and that is one of the things that makes him so loved everywhere he goes.
