Maybe hair isnt that huge of a deal, but you have to align yourself with some social standards enough to make your life experience the most efficient. Im not speaking from my perspective, just trying to warn others of making bad decisions. For instance grow long dreads as a white guy (cool Imo, also irrelevant) and your selections for women able to tolerate that is going to dwindle, maybe you dont even mesh well with the minority into that style and desire others. Obviously a more extreme example, but these things should be understood.

I was sort of disappointed when the young lady said that locks are unhygienic. You are meant to wash them like any other hairstyle. But everyone has their preference and different experiences. She may have very well met someone who didn't keep their locks clean. Great honest video overall. Keep up the good work.

Hairstyle is such a weird thing. We all know what looks good, but then you look like every other guy or girl out there. I like when people experiment with longer/shorter styles than what they're used to. It shows a lot of character.

As someone who had his dreads for 15 years, I can see that there's a lot of misinformation in your circle of friends. Which is nothing surprising, considering the stereotypes and individuals who really chose to not wash their hair. But dreadlocks HAVE to be washed. Dreadlocks are tangled hair, and hair tangles the best when it is clean. As I've mentioned, I've had my hair knotted up for a long time, and it is not dirty, it does not smell, it is soft on touch, and I've spent a lot of time maintaining it. I wash it once a week, and occasionally do a deep wash with baking soda. I've probably spent months, if not a whole year of my time, maintaining my dreadlocks. As Lina said, it is a lifestyle.

Dude, courtney ryan and her circle of commentators are like the women off the friends sitcom. You can see they are tending to choose nice and tight hair cuts. I still remember seeing this girl once that worked at Noodles and Co that had "head turning" dread locks. She keep them really neat and even, they looked so cool I actually fantasized about buying a lock or two from her for like an accessory, if that wouldnt come off weird. Lol.

100% agree as a guy who used to have twists/dreads. No offense to the women, but there's a lot of misinformed opinions. Different hair styles and textures require different maintenance. My girlfriend washes her hair almost every day, but I only wash it once a week because it's prone to dryness, dullness, and breakage. Just trying to spread awareness!

Most skincare routines ruin your skin at worst and at best do nothing. Healthy diet and maybe some moisturizer with spf is the only thing you need.

Hey Courtney, I finally moved this weekend and it was horrible. I didn't get as much help as I thought I was. All the big moving trucks were taken. From 10:30 am on Saturday to 3:30 pm on Sunday, I worked non stop. Didn't eat, didn't sleep. The worst part was that I didn't get to watch your videos. Hey man. If you go bald and can grow a beard thats a good option. If you can grow muscles even better. Transplant is risky, unless your life is so demoralized by hairloss you shouldnt get it.

Dreadlocs/Locs are so easy to maintain. Wash them once a week, deep wash like every 3/4 months and you’re good to go. And no you don’t have to cut them out, you can comb them out but that takes hours.

Hey Courtney :) Can you showcase some reactions to some popular hairstyles from korean men perhaps? Maybe not the overly feminine male idol types, but handsome actors showcasing various hairstyles from short to long? For your asian/asian-american audience a lot of our hairstyles are more compatible with those types of hairstyles, rather than hairstyles for those of european descent. Black barber shops use a spray to fill in your beard so to say after they shape it up. That’s how the line is so defined. I’m white and the first time they did it to me i got in the car and me and my wife just started cracking up it looked so funny on me. Looks great on him though!

You can't go wrong with a fade/curly fade especially in the summer/warm months. Those haircuts are easier to keep up. Because i be having to go to the barbershop every 3 weeks. That guy with the dreads made the perfect decision to cut them. I used to have long hair too and it became too much to keep up. I glad you brought the girls in for this. they aren’t judging the men but the ideas of looks and being honest. what would the point be if they were overly polite? although i would take the creepy turtle comment back :)

If you didn't know, Yes, dreadlocks they wash their hair. Not everyday but twice a week. Can't wash everyday because makes hair harder to loc.
