Anyone else slightly annoyed that for Cody they said bronze medalist when for people who were just on the relay in prelims they say gold? Cody was on the finals team and won gold in Rio but for Jack Conger or Tom Shields who only managed prelim teams in relays are announced as gold? Just ticks me off.

Seliskar Gaming normally the swimmer gets to choose what is said, so he probably had them say bronze medal because individual medals can often be harder to come by then relay when you’re on the US

I think he takes too much time on vlogs like he missed his ticket to Tokyo but I think for the best is to take a break from vlogs at least to train well

That was about as perfect a start for MA as is possible. I had to look at it several times, because he came within inches of passing the 15 meter marker. Amazing performance. Tokyo is looking like a very real prospect now (and possibly in multiple events if this continue improving like this: 100 breast, 100 fly, 200 IM, Medley relay).

Cody’s stroke isn’t as long and strong as It was in 2016 his arms are coming way above the water which reduces his glide and makes his strokes shorter and less powerful. I’m sure he’ll work better on it for nationals

I think the trend with breast, since it's the least efficient, is to modify the stroke as much as possible while still getting away with calling it "breaststroke."

@Taewan Ko I'd like to see Peaty do 50 and 100 fly. I wonder if he could qualify for Team GB in those. Breast is a really specialized thing, but fly came out of breast and features a combo of power and timing.

@@sahilppanjwani When did he do 1:56? I know he did mid-1:57 a couple months ago. His freestyle was slow because of his "fly and die" style and fact that he's a sprinter. Maybe he can make one of the two Olympic team spots in that event. I don't know how tapered Chase Kalisz was/is. Lot of good int'l swimmers in that event as well.

John Kelly If you swim breaststroke, you’re allowed to swim more than 15m underwater, but you can only do one underwater phase cycle.
