Surely you aren't arguing that people who resist arrest should be killed even though capital punishment is not in the statutes as punishment for that offense. The real question is whether it's right and proper for anyone to run away knowing the state has given permission to the police to violate their rights to property and life. The "just comply" is basically another way of saying "just accept living in a police state." The running is a result of the corruption of the system taking in the very characteristics of the actions it intended to stop.

It's a system of collecting tribute. Think of it as what the mongols did in the places they conquered.

The problem isn't these rules governing cops. It's just a bandaid. The problem is the lack of direct accountability built into our political system. The people who decide how police departments run are politicians. But, notice that not a single politician has gotten in trouble over this incident. And, even if they do nothing, they still will remain in office because nobody really cares enough to rally people to vote politicians out of office for not doing their job.

The use of his taser wasn't the only violation of police policy the office was fired for. My point involves the other violations (e g., such as lying during an official police investigation--lying to the police is a criminal offense). Virtually all State Laws criminalize this act and hold that, quote: "Providing a false statement to law enforcement officers or government officials can result in a charge leveled against you that ranges anywhere from a first-degree misdemeanor to a third-degree felony. A misdemeanor falsification conviction can land you in jail for up to 180 days and leave you with a $1,000 fine. However, a third-degree felony conviction carries with it a five-year maximum prison sentence and up to a $10,000 fine," unquote. Source: Ohio Revise Code.

This obese cop who gave up chase of a suspect after only running 6 yards doesn't meet the fitness requirements to be in the SCORPION unit; yet the entirety of the asset forfeiture is being put on HIM. So having de-linked the killers from their motive the system can go on being rotten. They'll pay fatty a wrongful termination settlement for the privilege. I'm so over this.
