Part of the stolen gun problem is people" law abiding citizens" will leave their guns in the car is because the mall and other types of stores have become gun free zones and they don't want to get in a situation if anti gun person notices the gun on them I know from experience because I have a lock box and a lady almost had a heart attack when I was putting my gun away to go in the store.

Don't leave anything of value in your car. Learned that back in the 1980s when people would smash windows to steal cassettes

Your weapon should go where you go, if not, don’t go.

Two things that’ll help prevent that. One, don’t leave your gun anywhere but the trunk of your car and in a lockbox. Two, don’t bring your gun anywhere unless you can keep it on you at all times. But this proves a few points many of us have been trying to get across. Limiting the amount of guns one owns would be limiting the amount of guns that could get stolen. Most guns that have been used in crimes are stolen from careless gun owners. Guys like this one feel safe enough to leave a gun in the car, yet feel they need to carry it everywhere they go? Feeling both AT THE SAME TIME?

Anyone who creates a gun free zone, which forces law abiding people to leave guns in cars should be sued for that theft. Leaving a firearm in a vehicle in TN is not against the law. But this is another example of not holding the criminal accountable for their actions which IS the catalyst to the problem of guns being stolen from cars. If the gun owner, not wanting to leave the gun in a car, carries it into a gun free zone they would endure harsher penalties than the criminal who, potentially, would steal it in the first place.

@@connecticutgunbench2231 agreed that is why I live in a red state and I don't do business with places that don't allow guns. But also if you conceal it properly no one is the wiser. I have carried in places like a casino and other places. If you carry it in a proper holster and not a big gun. Most guns stolen is from cars parked in their driveways or street. Those are the ones that should be really punished. We had a on duty cop who was in uniform and on his lunch break. He went to pick up his watch that he had repaired at a jewelry store. The owner refused to help him unless he left his service weapon in the police car. That didn't go over well with the community. That's to extreme

People rarely leave guns in cars. It's the same thing as reporting your car stolen because your friend wrecked it, their buying guns and having them fake stolen so they can use them without them being traced back
