My favorite KZread channel.
Good video 👍 thank you
As always, excellent work!
Great Valley location video Kurt! 👍🏽HIT THAT THUMBS UP TO SUPPORT 80s Life on KZread 👍🏽
Love watching the valley vids. As a NYer, was always fascinated with all the TV/Movies filmed out there and what life was like. Question: Was the Valley a much nicer place to live in the 70s-90s vs. nowadays?
These are fantastic videos. I turned 18 in 1986, so many of these clips speak to me. So interesting to see them now, vs. back then. Thank you!

Hey thanks for the Patreon shout out Kurt....! Made my day...........thanks so much for all the work you out into these videos. You bring back so many great memories of the Valley. Cant wait to see what's next. Thanks.....! - John Price
These videos really make my day 😊 Thanks for all the effort you put into these Kurt 👏
The Valley was definitely part of the 80s and 90s for me; I grew up in the other valley and no one refers to the SGV as "The Valley" that has been part of SFV's identity like forever. We were part of the 818 before they spun it off to the 626.

The San Gabriel Valley can always lay claim to the greatest '80s movie ever: Back To The Future. Filmed on location at Puente Hills Mall in Hacienda Heights and Whittier High School in Whittier.

@@whoami7721 I grew up and lived in the city where the rest of BTTF was filmed, and many other 80s movies that Kirk and many other tubers have visited (Often times too much). I was oblivious to most of that history until I got older as I would go to the city library after school many times, yet never bat an eye to realize that the Halloween House was just across the street.
Best Video series of them all … always awesome to watch dude 🎉😃😉🔥🔥🔥
Randy Rhoads childhood home is a few blocks from the Growing Pains house on Amherst Dr. 🤘🏼
You were out in my hood. About a year ago there was a movie filmed on my street that had a code name project of "Smuckers". Still trying to find out what movie it is. They brought an ostrich and a deer into the house and had big trailers all up and down the street.
My wife and I always point to the tatoo shop from Blast from the Past on our way to the Topanga Mall😊

All good things must keep going!
I always thought the Back to the Future audition location was in Hollywood?
I enjoy your content as I too grew up in the 80s. I would really enjoy filming locations of "The Fall Guy". It was the only show during the week I got to stay up for when we got a tv. Thanks for the filming you do.
Keep the series going! How about filming locations from bad news bears in breaking training and corvette summer (not quite the 1980s....but close!)

I was in a band with Jackie Earl Haley during the filming of Bad News Bears , He wasn’t acting he was simply being himself. He lived near Fallbrook and Sherman Way.

@johnrpizzaguy that is very cool. I really enjoy bad news bears in breaking training. It'd be fun to go back in time and hang out with jackie Earle haley and the team
Cool hat
I feel like I've been in the Valley more than I have been because of all the movies and TV shows that were filmed there. I grew up in Whittier and didn't go out there much. I had relatives who lived in Pasadena, but there wasn't much reason to go up to the Valley when I was a kid.
I had a motorcycle in high school in the early eighties and I knew where every street, side street, and how to get there in the valley, especially the west valley. I don’t there’s a street in the valley I haven’t been on.
Always a real good time watching these videos. Thank you for your hard work.
Final installment? NOOOO!
Holy moly I totally forgot about Malibu Grand Prix, we had one in Cincinnati when I was growing up. Thanks for the memory jog 🙏💚
That church was also the 7th Heaven church. I only know that cause I was a church extra in an episode
So awesome to see this!! I was born in Northridge hospital in 1978.
.always love watching your videos! The movie location vlogs always interested me plus I grew up in the 70s and 80s so we have similar taste. Also just subscribed, hope you can give me a shout out sometime. Keep up the good work
4:29 😅😅😅😅 Classic...!!!
Thank you again ! Appreciated to see a spot from ''Blast from the past''.
That's crazy how you know all these locations... I'm local so I'm familiar with the area.. but never knew all these very popular flicks were filmed right under my nose. thanks for the tour.
I was born in Northridge Hospital 1965. Went to Cleveland High early 80s.
Burbank is quite obviously part of the San Fernando Valley, its southern border abutting the Santa Monica Mountains - on the opposite side of Mount Lee from the Hollywood Sign, in fact - and its northern border extedning to the Foothills of the very Verdugo Mountains that mark the SF Valley's boundary. It is also contiguous with North Hollywood, Studio City and Sun Valley, to the south and west, as well as Glendale to the east. Burbank is an incorporated city (not a so-called L.A. "neighborhood" like the aforementioned neighboring towns) as it wasn't annexed - as almost all of the Valley was - by Los Angeles in the early 1900s, and as such has its own police department, water and power, and otherwise operates seperately from the City of Los Angeles while still part of L.A. County. It is the very first SFV city one encounters when travelling south out of Hollywood through the Cahuenga pass, over Barham and into the Valley. Glendale, on the other hand, while definitely in, and officially part of, the Valley, is a city (not a neighborhood) which shares a border with non-Valley Los Angeles not delineated - as is the case with Burbank - by mountains, as it trails off into Los Feliz to the south and also eastward into Pasadena, which sits inside the San Gabriel Valley. Like Burbank, Glendale's northern border lies in the VM Foothills - the mountains which form the Valley's rim.
doth mine eyes deceive me or is there a fully purple tree on Kevin Arnolds street? What manner of teen witch magic be there!
Lived on Cantara street off Tampa and Roscoe.
Seeing the boys dancing to "Top That" brought back memoreis. I remembered the song. Not sure if you knew this, but rhe boy in the middle is Noah Blake as in Robert Blake's son.
aps awesome vid as always
Hoover High School is my school. Some of my friends were extras in Teen Witch. One guy skateboarding across the street I know for sure
You should’ve mentioned that Tommy’s on Topanga was in Corvette Summer. It’s where the Vette gets stolen
That recreation center was also used in filming basketball games during the Emergency Squad 51 team, and CHiPs Basketball game with the LA Rams. I think Squad 51 team played the LAFD.
If the city area code is “818” It’s the valley! 😎
The Young Sheldon church is also the church where Bob and Phyllis got married on "The Office."
You should do a video on Herve valechez, Gary Coleman, and past characters
Surprisingly, the Finnish name was not perfectly pronounced. This Memories series is yes great, I like it 👍🏻
Kurt,Any which way but loose filming locations, must be done !!!

@@petezahman3914 I use to go there all the time around 1981-1982. Played alot of foos ball there.
I think at that rec center (i was 11 so forgive if wrong), my mom and i were driving by and saw the Incredible hulk being filmed
Crazy fact: half a block from the BTTF auditorium (right on the other side of the dog park) is the house where Ashton Kutchers girlfriend was killed. Across the way, past Franlin Ave is where the killers apt was. Its a huge true crime spot now.
If you saw “Hambuger The Motion Picture” Buster Burger was located at 7635 Winnetka Avenue. They remodeled a Burrito Restaurant and turned it into this crazy Buster Burger with giant horns and a big pickle that took your order at the drive thru. I worked close to it so I thought it was going to be a real Burger joint until they started filming. This was in 85 or 86. It might be a Popeye’s now.
Rad video dude!
Burbank is part of the valley VanOwen and Victory and a few other valley streets end up there
I lived in Van Nuys close to the Bario. It was a rough area.

Need a 90’s life video from Glendale of Pulp Fiction locations 😂
I love it how people in the valley and people by the beach refer to things. I have always called it flood control but I'm from Long Beach, so what do I know.
Another great video. Who’s driving, your wife or son?
I live by your old house. I'm right on arleta
u gotta do a san gabriel valley vid
Not sure if you already covered it, but 9505 Mason is the DMV scene from Summer School.
Hey, isn't that big drainage canal from Gleaming the Cube the same one from Terminator 2 ?
"I'm hot, and you're not.." 😂
What street was young Sheldon’s house on? Would love to drive by and check it out.

Wasn’t some of the movie “Blue Thunder”, with Roy Scheider, filmed in California ?
Let me ask you something, brah. In your high school, was the break after second period called "nutrition" or "snack"? There was always this stupid debate whether it was called one or the other. Students from valley schools like Birmingham or Reseda high, it was called nutrition. Whereas schools like Burbank high or Hoover high I believe it was called snack. so everybody from one laugh at another because they weren't used to the others. I went to Birmingham so we called the 20 min break before 3rd period nutrition.
Hey Kurt do you have a fav top 3 videos that you have done since you started your channel??
Can you buy weed in a smoke shop in LA? Greetings from Germany!
Buitiful???
I lived in the San Ferrnando Valley from ages 12-36. I've never considered half of burbank & Glendale part of the valley because they are not in the valley. It's just politics.
Burbank and Glendale are at the tail end of the valley . I lived in Glendale for 18 years from '82 to 98 best years ever, so many memories 😢
great
was awesome i grew up there... it is now crap overpopulated and crime pure 💩
