I remember getting my first bike Christmas 1950 aged 6 from Tommy Braund, I seem to remember my mum paying so much a week, my first Numark wrist watch from Wards on Coatsworth Road when I was 7, again I think my beloved auntie paid so much a week tough times but happy times...Thanks for the memories.

This video made me happy and sad at the same time. My home where I grew up but which councillors let rot and then pulled down. Great people lived there with a great sense of community. We didn't have much but we had some great times. Thank you so much for posting this.

Just as I remember it. Sad to see the site of my first home as a child, First Street. We lived to the left of the post box in the photo, opposite Ronnie McCarton’s shop

I'd forgotten about Tommy Braund's bike shop on Coatsworth Road. I always went there for brake blocks, brake cables and inner tubes etc for my bike back in the 60's. Had to keep it in good condition so we could get up to Low Fell station to do a bit of train spotting. ps I was your neighbour from #7.

So you must be Peter, in Canada? It was you who got me 'in to' trains back then. You have a lot to answer for (in a very good way, I must add!) Thanks!! Have you seen my railway pictures (from Low Fell, among many others) on Facebook?

@@trev68e Yup I'm Pete in Canada , I don't do facebook but I have seen quite a few of your old photos from around the north east on various sites. Also Lesley Kelly forwarded a few pics of yours as well. Say hi to Eric next time you see him, it must be 15 yrs since I met up with him in lobba.

@@geordienufc3132 Hi Peter, well it's a small world. My mistake - I should have suggested you look at my pictures on Flickr (I have various Albums including several railway ones. There are some early photos at Low Fell from 1964 - perhaps you were there on those days too?) Has Lesley Kelly forwarded you a picture I took in 1967 of a parade going down our street? Your mam is sitting on the wall watching it. I could stick it on Facebook and Lesley could send it, if you like. I rarely see Eric these days but I will pass on your regards by email. Were you here as recently as 15 years ago? - when did you go over to Canada? Cheers!
