@Julia Winfield still have my sony, had to repair one of the guide wheels about 5 years ago, the little plastic over the rod cracked and broke, almost destroyed the tape, I took foam and wrapped it and melted it solid, been working ever since, easier on the old tapes too! those old VCR's never actually went bad unless you cracked the circuit board

@Julia Winfield lol, my Grandma left us an old pink hoover floor buffer from the 50's, still works better than most new ones, back in the day things were thought out, they used the perfect amount and thickness of wires, they designed power supplies to only supply the power necessary to run something, all of our Apollo rockets were designed so that each orifice, tube and burn chambers only took in the perfect mixtures to burn the cleanest and provide perfect thrust, no electric controls for fuel, all of these things are becoming lost arts, Nasa engineers cant even reverse engineer a 1960's rocket! Cheapness , bad quality, over using products are all that exist anymore, i.e. built to fail. This is why the environment is so impacted, landfills are overflowing... When I say America has turned to trash I mean it both firguatively and literally!
