Scambaiting is 100% working as a deterrent, I got a scam call a few weeks ago and I only got one totally benign question in before the scammer snapped at me like "yeah yeah yeah you're wasting my time and your time, goodbye" and hung up. They're getting paranoid lol hopefully they get nowhere with these scams and leave innocent ppl alone

I have a ready-to-go dedicated VM for these grubs should they happen to cold-call me (which has resurged lately), but I can't always be bothered dropping what I'm doing for an instant and possibly prolonged scambaiting session. Recently, the first words I said to the scammer were "Do your father and mother...", and the scammer hung up immediately after those five words even before I could finish with "... know that you're a thief?"

It is surprisingly hard to keep scammers on the phone. They're like the people who walk down streets at night, checking every car to see if it's unlocked. They want to hit as many potential victims as they can, so if anything goes sideways, they pull the plug and move on.

Like he didn’t need to accuse him of such an extreme crime to blackmail him especially since it’ll likely backfire. After all realistically the police would’ve been called and after investigating the scenario would either find out that the guys a scammer or arrest his victim which would make them unable to pay the scammer. To me it seems like the scammer only did it bc their either very vengeful, to the point that they’d punish u severely if u gave them even the slightest amount of resistance , or bc their main reason for scamming is bc they get some sort of sadistic pleasure ruining peoples lives which he’ll try to fulfill no matter what

@@dearcastiel4667 the funny thing is that at my company we have a service desk IT number that reaches a center in the US and half of the times I called I was helped by a technician with an indian accent who was very helpful. It's unfortunate because I have to remind myself I am the one calling into the company provided number so they're not a scammer or anything. That indian accent connection to scam centers that call people is so ingrained from getting spam calls from MiCrOsOfT tEcH sUPpOrt and from watching scambait content that I trips me up. It's sad for the majority of Indian people who are honest citizens.

My grandad likes to tell the scammers that he has to walk up from the courtyard to get to his computer, but when he gets there he coincidentally forgot his keys at the tennis court. Then the harbour master needs him down at the dock for some reason. It's a long long walk but he always has the energy for it! Cracks me up every time ahahah!

Yep. Another scambaiter, IReckScammers, did a scambait once where he pretended to be calling from a public library and it was beyond hilarious. He said he'd been looking at adult content on a library computer and had gotten a popup that HAD to be gone before the librarian showed up and saw what he'd been doing. The scammer changed absolutely nothing about his script aside from seeing an opportunity to charge extra to have this random library user pay to have every computer in the library "covered" by the "protection plan" he was offering. Scammers constantly talk about how stupid their victims are, but they are purposely seeking the least computer literate among us, those who didn't grow up using them, while they have no excuse for being as stupid as they are. They literally sit in front of a computer all day and still have zero knowledge about computers outside of the stuff written on their script.

"Humans can carry computer viruses?!" along with just "that's not allowed in the library sir." absolutely killed me... this hands down has got to be the greatest one yet IMO. And then also just casually slipping into the conversation "Sir this is an Olive Garden" BRAVO!

As a librarian, I can say that you'd be surprised what you can get away with on library computers. And I've had to tell plenty of people that they were being scammed. It's so sad.

That's how it worked in the old days before the internet. Sometimes we had to put in 12 floppy disks in sequence just to copy one virus!

Out of all the scam/scam-baiting channels, this is the absolute best one. You've turned trolling them into an art.

I appreciate that there are other scam baiter channels. We need all the people we can get to distract and try and catch these scammers....however, kitboga is my favorite.

The more they try to push their script, the more aloof Kitboga becomes by changing subject, talking over them etc. So, the distance between scammer's expectations of emotional control and actual lack of it in reality *drives them crazy !*

I’m so glad someone is playing a game on scammers. I’m going to do this the next time a scammer calls me.

I watched this guy off and on sometimes, every time I come back I'm surprised how he still manages to make this stuff funny. A lot of people are doing good work trolling scammers, but this guy is just on a different level of funny.

I agree.

Kit isn't just a great actor. But the care he goes to for the background noises. The fake conversations with other characters he plays. That bit he did where Tony, the OG Manager, go on some kind of PA system and warn the customers to not use the wifi anymore. That's so deep into a sherade that I can only imagine how hard it is for these scammers to understand this is all a joke. I think that's why sometimes even though things get absurd, the call probably feels so authentic that they can't tell teh difference. Kit doing god's work.

Your ability to switch from such believable northern, Brooklyn and southern accents is impressive! I'm Texan and you sounded like 90% of my family 🤣

Absolutely hilarious!! I had been scammed before and lost upfront fees and was traumatized by that episode as a victim. I reported the incident to the AG and FBI with strong evidence but their answers were there are "thousands of such cases everyday", not enough manpower to track them down. Please keep up the good work and at least make some of us "naive" folks aware of how these scumbags work!

@@kd3684 Yeah I know it's promo you have to pay for but I never been to one that had wifi. I was thinking if they have both maybe some broke high-school or college kids could exploit the system by paying for the promo and using the wifi to binge a show or study. Or I would hang out there for a couple of hours to get out of bad weather.

Indian police has been notified multiple times regarding these scam call centers. And they don't take any action on their own. hopefully some govt would care in the future.

Had a couple of these just last month. Told them to personally go eff themselves. Was too busy to even troll them.

I love these more summarized, slightly calmer videos. Awesome!

When things don't go their way they turn to using offensive words like a little child, run off little scammer and go and stamp your feet.
