Noo the spoon is made of gallium and aluminium alloy Aluminum is actually a quite reactive metal ,it readily react with water The spoon is covered with oxides of metals so they donot directly expose to the atmosphere. When this spoon dipped in water the aluminum oxides layer can't form thus enabling the aluminium react with water

I made a gallium spoon once, and since my coworker had just made new coffee, I poured myself a cup and put the spoon in and began to stir. After the spoon had begun to melt, I took it out and shouted "What the fuck Josh, how hot is this coffee? Why the hell would you make it so hot? Are you trying to make me FUCKIN DIE when I drink it?" Needless to say, he was very confused, and I'd say that overall it was a success.

12 years later maybe you know lol but gallium is used in electronic circuit and some application due to its property face to pressure (gallium tend to melt under high pressure, like water. While most others materials tend to solidify under high pressure)

@gamer5122: since gallium is a metal, it's a very good conductor of heat. The heat of my hand is readily absorbed and distributed through the spoon, and the spoon partially cools my fingers. If it were made of chocolate, it would melt a lot faster because chocolate conducts heat very poorly.
