For those of you responding that the reason is "feminism", I would challenge you to rethink that stance. Nothing Melinda says here is of a "toxic" or "not factual" basis. She is arguing for women's rights and for an end of domestic violence against women. If you are in disagreement on either of those two ideals, that speaks more about you than it does about her.

just to give you an idea of logic that governs my brain, take into account the event when i first got to know of Bill, his first impressions were "this guy is a billionaire, he is famous and can quite literally aid me directly and i no longer has to put up with my severely disadvantageous position... but he won't for some reason, must be an utter prick of some kind".... that was about 11 months ago.. since then i have been visibly hesitant in working with him.. for reasons, specified above..
