lithofoamer does the lowest ammount of damage in the game, friendly fire is reduced so it just goes to 0​@@Thoriumplatypus5263

Watching this back it’s insane how much damage SBB saved me. Really slept on OC but for good reason, it’s a lot weaker as a weapon but as a toughness buff it’s wild

Steeve may be pretty useful in this challenge, technically he can only deal melee damage so it does not invalid the challenge and he can draw aggro from yourself too.

​@AxisKronos Oops all bulks kind of poisons your ability to fight other enemies. the real difficulty of it is completing the missopn before the cave is gone

Another reason why Hive Guard is really annoying is when the projectiles hit even though you dodged them or the aoe of the projectile landing is too big to get away from while full sprinting. This could be a skill issue or I need to stop joining games with 200 ping.

I get what you're saying and it's because of high ping, when I used to join far away lobbies hive guard's projectiles attacks were lethal to me, no matter how well i dodge them they still get me somehow, but when i host or solo play I never took damage from them.

My friends and I had to do this with a normal Dread and a Hiveguard simultaneously. We were on a 3 cocoon mission and thought it'd be hilarious if we popped all three simultaneously. So we did that and got two normal dreads and a hiveguard. We took out the first Dread with no problem, but the builds we took were pretty ammo-inefficient, and we were running low by the time we were partway through the second Dread. Another thing was that this map had almost no Nitra; it was kind of insane how little there was, so we ran out of what resupplies we had by that point. By that point, we realized we fucked up, and we were basically out of ammo. Half of us were desperately scrounging for Nitra while the other half was taking on the second Dread and trying to dodge the Hiveguard's volleys. We reached the point where we had 79 NITRA and one of my friends thought he had found the final piece... but it was only 0.2... So, realizing that we have no choice but to use our pickaxes, we take out the second Dread and go through the agonizing process of fighting a practically full-health Hiveguard with melee only and dying over and over because it was Haz 5, and we constantly had like 5 health. We SOMEHOW managed to do it. It was one of our greatest Deep Rock moments, but we were all kind of burnt out after that.

Appreciate you doing secondaries, optional objectives and even getting minerals. Too many "challenge runs" out there doing the bare minimum.

Objectively I don’t think it’s wrong to skip stuff in challenge settings, it doesn’t invalidate the win so to speak, but if someone can win and do all the fluff, it shows me that they’re better than if they just scrape by.

Holy, congratulations. I thought you would say the toughest challange would be the arbalest because its constantly on the cieling and has the fireball shotgun on lock but at least now I learnt something new about the hiveguard as well. 8:58 SLAP

All that kiting and only power attack reminds me of when physics got completely broken and could not interact with anything. When out of ammo, and needing to take an ammo from the resupply, the mouse had to be perfectly still on a pixel, the player had to also be perfectly still, so only the calm between clearing all the bugs and the next wave is there a few chances for holding E to take the ammo to completely fill up the progress bar. That failed way too much. If this glitch still exists, the only way into the drop pod is to walk from terrain onto the ramp and then from the ramp to the exit zone.

This has made me want to make a more detailed dread fighting video again, hive is just goofy in a lot of ways

I had this exact mission earlier today, glacial strata, ebonite outbreak, 12 gunk seeds and 3 dreadnaughts, although I got twins, hiveguard, regular

Idk but in like the one time i tryed if u just circle close around barage infectors it cant hit u since u move to fast kinda like the burst turrets

tbh, this just feels like a normal scout run but without bosco i've lost count of all the times i'd run out of ammo while playing as scout, and then i'd be forced to grapple all over the place while power atking stuff and letting bosco spend 1000 years to kill a single enemy, just to find out he was atking an opressor and ofc doing no damage because he doesn't know what a weakspot is. but hell, i wouldn't dare go near a dreadnough with no ammo (mostly because there's usually 999 enemies surrounding them when i'm the one playing lol)

I was about to type a comment suggesting you use your primary slot with hoverclock, before it fully clicked that you were using shield booster.

To me it's crazy that by the time you killed the hive guard and would be normally "practically done with the mission" I would've still been fighting the 2nd one, Im trying hard to get into speed play but this is crazy to me. Idk why but dreads are definitely my weakest mission and it always takes me so long to deal with them

What happened to the lacerator at 14:25? Half health and then just disappeared?

Very cool! Is there a method you used to make sure you get 3 unique dreadnoughts, like a specific seed, or was that just down to chance? I imagine the challenge would be a lot less interesting if you just avoided the hiveguard or twins

AFAIK there is no way to know/change which dread spawns. Even loading the same seed with sandbox mods you can get different dread sequences and sets. The only “rule” is that the same dread can’t spawn twice in a row. So in 3x you can get twin hive twin etc. So no just dumb luck on getting all three, but I’m glad I did!

In my expierance, the arbelist had a hit and run strategy it sill fire a ranged attack then burro into thd ground the other is more agressiv and chases players drawing away attdntion for the arbelist to apwn right behind you

Yes it’s the mod called “remove all particles except weapons and tools” or something like that, there’s a few versions so just search particle on mod io and you’ll be all good

I used to scroll wheel bind it, but after one of my 2 dead mice in the last 4 years was due to wheel I’ve just gone to using the mod. There’s a few people who can just skill 99% of the movement here but that’s not what I’m doing to be transparent

If we think 'bout it, the flare gun can deal some damage, i think a flare gun only run would be intresting Edit: i think pheromones should have been allowed, cuz the ebonites are constantly spawning, and only deal melee damage, and the grenade itseld deals none(sorry if someone said it already)

Even SBB feels a little like cheating, but doing it on haz5 feels like it needs SOMETHING like that just to make it... possible? I'd skip an omen tower, no way am i doing that.

Yes, used to use scroll wheel but wore out my old mouse so rather than spend another $100 in a year I’m just using the mod. Highly recommend!

@@AxisKronos Personally I consider this cheating, no hate though just wondering how you feel about the discussion on this type of mod considering I see that you tackle your challenges with high regard for completing them as fairly as possible with little to no advantages. Id like to add as well, I’m not sure how consistently the scroll wheel gives you b-hops but If it’s 100% of the time as well then I can see little to no problem with this mod. I only ask though because I see you complete your challenges without utilizing advantageous mechanics.
